Playing with my carbon poles last night.

Top gear bearbones.

Will be excellent for holding door open on touring tent as well :)

Add a pair of thick rubber bands and they fit well under my top tube on top of the frame bag without rattling

I can see the problem. You've pitched it upside-down...

A few more goodies,
An Alpkit 13L dual drybag in rather fetching (Lego) blue, no to figure out how to get it to play nice with my brake cables...

And an assortment of crazy light Dyneema cordage, 1.5mm, 3mm and 7/64" armsteel blue. With some mini line locks to match.
1.5mm will replace my guys, 7/64" for the hammock and I have no idea what to do with the 3mm other than general utility cord for whatever.

Seems my stockpile of 6mm 550 Paracord may be gathering dust after this....

Found this thread lurking half way down page 2

Carbon rims have arrived from China - 1x 50mm and 2x 35mm 29er rims. Should sort out my wheel options for the next while.

The mechanic at work has built several sets for his disc cross bike. Sub 1400g for less than £350 a pair. Amazing value and they've lasted 2 seasons now, much much longer than his Mavics. His brother has a set to match his Chinese wilier (which was finished off nicer and lasted longer than his original wilier!) and they've done several thousand miles without missing a beat!

Not delivered by Gwyn or Lyne the post but purchased while out replenishing supplies. It's a Regatta Sandstorm gilet, thick softshell material which claims to be water resistant and windprooof. Plenty of zipped pockets and a nice high collar ... so far I can't fault it for £15.

It came through a little while ago but I forgot to post it up

I used it for the first time last night, a Paramo Torres Gilet. I had 2 in large but sold them as they were too big, this one is a medium.

I need a gilet I can throw on if I'm filthy and not worry about it, and lob in the washing machine and again not worry about special treatments. This is now my 4th synthetic fill gilet! Which obviously excludes windproof gilets and down gilets...

Talking of destroying things, my £5 Tenn shorts arrived and two rides later they are fit only for exotic dancing due to split crotch issues.

I sent mine back - ordered the small, turned out they were mahoosive! More room inside them than my Terra Nova Bivvy bag!

FFS, you'd think Royal Mail could deliver something to 50 miles down the road at least within the same timescale as the Highlands of Scotland
