Trans Cambrian ITT - parking at Knighton

Post by bryanwadd »

I'm going to do a part of the Trans Cambrian ITT this weekend, heading out from Knighton, camp, then heading back again.

I note in a thread from 2012 that it's OK to park overnight in the Visitor Centre (which I think is the same as the Offas Dyke Centre?) and I wanted to check that was still the case. Does anyone know?

Also, can anyone recommend a good place to camp after about 40 or 50 miles?

Many thanks
Bryan

50 miles in you'll be around Claerddu bothy. If you really wanted to camp, there's plenty of space out the front of the bothy.

I parked up at the Offas dyke visitor centre fine a year or so back.

As Scattamah says, the Bothy would be my choice to aim for, as bothies go, it's alright

There's a lay by/ pull in at SO 281725 on the B4355. Parked there on a few occasions.

Once you've past Claerwen, cover is a bit thin until you get to Cwmystwyth, so Claerddu is a good choice, otherwise push on to Nant Ddu (the 65 mile mark, I think)
