Post by snack_ie »

Hi there,

After a 26er 18/20 inch MTB frame which I could use for a trip. Needs to be able to take panniers.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Niall Ive got a 3 year old very well used, large sized Inbred 26er you can have for free if you can collect it from me in South Bucks. Its a large size (think they say its 21in) but very low stand over so a short stem on it would see it fit anyone over 5'9`" I reckon. It used to look like this:

Thing is, as a summer hols school art project last year I let my son loose on it with some spray cans to do what he called a paint bomb. An apt expression, as it looked like a bomb hit it. Then he decided he would strip it but discovered that this is a rather harder and more time consuming job than he had imagined. It is an abject mess but as I keep telling him a days work with some paint stripper and wire wool would should see it looking ok. And if you don't care what it looks like, no one will ever steel it.

I have a Saracen Tufftrax that's about 19", Acera level kit, from around 1998 I think. Really good condition, hardly used. Rescued from going to the tip. Rigid forks. Eyelets but not sure if it has SS rack mounts without checking later. Thought it'd make a workable tourer but more likely that it'd get passed on. I'm in Herts if it's of use to you, collection plus a donation to Smartshelter?

Same as this - not my pic tho
