Keeping in touch.

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

How bothered are you about the ability to keep in touch when you're out and about riding?

Is sticking a mobile in your bag for emergency use enough or do you feel the need to receive/send emails and possibly get on-line?

Not being able to contact anyone for a couple of days or so (unless I can find a phone box) isn't something that concerns me but I know it does others ... just wondered what everyones take on it is.

Part ofthe lure of getting out into the hills, is being able to switch of from the 'normal' world, and so the mobiles always switched off (still carry it in case of emergency).

I take my mobile with me, but only turn it on if I'm out overnight to let David know I'm still alive. It's a nice feeling being away from all technology for a few days.

I think I was posting to Single Track while doing the WRT.

I may be addicted to technology

Definitely prefer to be out of touch. Often, I don't even like taking photos but I tend to regret that afterwards :?

I phoned home for weather when I was on WRT, normally carry the phone for emergency lift in case of disaster.
