Congrats to all who completed it. It was good fun looking out for snippets of updates, SPOT trackers and so on.

Now looking forward to reading some good accounts of peoples experiences and their different perspectives etc.

Any word on Kevin R? I figure he probably didn't have a GPS or a SPOT, so didn't get listed - though I imagine he completed it?

Again, hats off to all who did it. It looked hard and appears to have lived up to the its reputation.

Great to share breakfast with you Tom and Wixey, agree that last 60k was tough mentàlly. Good to see you hung in there together. In before last orders no problem then.

Ian, I'm sure there's more times to go up, Jenn definitely tweeted a finish picture, and Initial worries about Kev were calmed when he appeared at the finish I heard.

Assume Kevin hasn't got round to sending his finish photo to Steve (or Steve is busy recovering and hasn't updated the website since Monday). I'm sure he'll get a time up.

Jack... last orders were almost as important as getting a sub 36hr time! 3 pints of "Braveheart", with a hearty serving of haggis, neeps and tatties saw me right.

Kevin hasn't contacted me yet with a time, photo, or to even say he was finished and completed the route. I have emailed him asking to do so if he wanted a time up.

There was some drama on Monday where his girlfriend was distressed and called the police to report him lost. I emailed all the racers and found out he was actually fine and at the finish. Hopefully nothing comes of this.

Aidan's write up is on his blog:

Well done guys, I did some of that route with a fully loaded bike the weekend before and some of it was pretty challenging.

My rambling tale of the ride with some quite poor pictures, It does star Rob Wickes and Tom Hill though to add some colour

I'm a touch worried at the battering my hands seem to have taken from that ride, no pain, just really poor levels of grip strength even 5 days later. Had to get someone to get my credit card out of my wallet for fuel on the way back as i could not do it myself. Comically had trouble cutting up food too
Guys at work have covered for me a bit this week, I could not even apply enough force to undo a screw at one stage, slightly worrying.
Years of long distance motorbike and cycle enduros catching up on me.

Great stuff, Jack. That one took me two cups of coffee :-). Seems that the wet & cold combo was quite a feature of the ride as that's something Aidan mentioned in his write-up too. I hated riding with a sus fork and bar bag, constant rubbing. Not a problem these days as the bike is rigid most of the time, and always for loaded trips. Those of us who follow you guys with ITT rides of the route certainly have an advantage from these great write-ups. Cheers!

I knew where to look Jack..... but did wonder
And I enjoyed the read and photos. Hope the hands are feeling better - not good to loose your grip strength
Cheers.

I thought it was a great write-up to be honest, I really fancy doing this next year but your account does convey well how hard it is, maybe more so than Aiden's (given his time maybe he didn't find it so hard!), think I'll make a final decision once I've completed the BB200 later this year.

Great write up Jack. Enjoyed reading that. I've finally got round to putting my weekend in words.

Thanks Roy, thanks Mark.

Jack was right as well. I would rather have had more weight on the bike and either no pack, or a very light one. Might have a crack at some of the MYOG ideas.
