Frame protection.

Post by ctznsmith »

Ok I didn't do this and so have some pretty bad rub marks. Before these get any worse I figure I probably should.

What do people use to protect their frames (e.g. helicopter tape) and where do they buy it?

p.s. if this has been asked before point me to it, I did try a search.

Anyone got a recommended seller they've used?

Interesting, that means I could probably go to a normal physical shop and buy it. Does it not have a woven layer or is that just in Duck tape?

I use Ultimate clear Duck Tape from Screwfix, loads of branches about,
It's about £4/5 a roll.Clear with a reinforcement in it,removes easily,easy
To put on, 50mm wide so good frame tube coverage,I've allways got a
Roll knocking about :-bd

For cable areas, I use free stickers people send with stuff. They wear out, I put new ones on.

I use insulation tape on my seatpost and bars for the seatbag and bar bag. Never bothered with the frame area for where the frame bag goes.

For frame bag areas, harness straps etc, I use old inner tubes in the belief the rubber helps to grip the bag in place
