Dartmoor - way of the dead.
After reading about this in STW issue 98 and seeing as this is on my doorstep I decided to go and have an explore as a test of some new bikepacking gear.
Epic views, remote and barren. Navigation was fairly straightforward on a nice sunny day but there are sections where the right route is vague at best.
I cut out the section via Bellever as I'd ridden that before and was short on time. Between powdermills and cocks hill be prepared for some pushing. I think the article is economical with how rideable this actually is.
I forked left at the top of cocks hill and dropped directly into Peter Tavy as its a much better descent.
Anyway, some pics.

Did the EWE section over Dartmoor recently; much better now it's dryer, but still some pointless HAB on the NE of the moor!
Is that a Spearfish with Revelate Frame bag? What do you think of it?

Looks interesting, I'll have to nip over to W H Smiths later and read the article in Singletrack.
BTW, does two lambs near Hexworthy trump mutton elsewhere on the moor? ;-)

its a transition bandit with a custom bag made by a friend of a friend. the guy is just starting up in the frame bag business.
Re: Dartmoor - way of the dead.
Oooh, I will be looking for a custom half frame bag and possibly seat pack in a few weeks/months. Any idea what sort of time frame for him to get set up?

Good to see Paul's stuff getting out there.
Saw some of the very early protos in Peru, and tested some of the first stuff they produced.
Definitely a brand to watch!

Is there a gpx fr this route? Or at least a line on a map somewhere? Can't get to a copy of STW anytime soon...
