Make my gear for me (Motorcycle related)

Post by FLV »

Hi, Long shot.

Does anybody know any where to get custom motorcycle seats done.

I want a new seat for my bike as I dont get on with the shape of the current one. There are lots of american options but would prefer uk. I'm looking to buy a second hand seat and then get it custom shaped and covered. I was hoping to find someone who can listen to the reasons I find it uncomy and then come up with something good.

Anyway, longshot but always worth an ask.

In my professional days as a builder of weird sh1t, we used to use these people.

Not had any dealings with them for at least 12 years but their stuff was top notch and they were superb at doing just what you describe Dave.

Airhawk is one I keep hearing about.

Maybe not quite what you were after, but maybe worth a consideration.

If you dont find what you need let me know Dave and I'll ask my mum - she has lived and breathed motorbikes since the sixties and has just had to have a new seat made for her shiny new BMW as she's only 5' tall!

Nice one, relatively local too. He might be ideal.

If your using your existing base it may be worth having a go yourself. I did several using various bits of chopped foam, closed cell foam (all those old Karrimats!) and even gell pads from bicycle seats. For covers I just sourced some black vynl from an autojumble and made with the needle and thread. Just a thought...
