No more Stealth tents

Post by macinblack »

There was I, just about to buy a Trekkertent Stealth and they have stopped making them. Shows not to dither. Would I have been better off buying the Drift in any case?

All this stuff is new to me, so any suggestions as to an alternative gratefully received.

Have you contacted them directly to confirm if it's discontinued? It looks like the website is being shuffled around at the moment as well as the 'taking limited orders note' on the front page...

How quickly do you need something?

There's something in the pipeline produced by Trekkertent for Bear Bones ... single pole, seperate inner and hopefully less than 500g all in :-bd

Not too quick. It was going to be from the kids for Father's Day but I wasn't expecting it in time for then anyway. I would want it by the BB200 at the latest but need to get out and learn the craft before then, it's a long time since I was a boy scout...

Prototypes have been produced already but I don't have an eta on production versions yet.

The plan is to produce them in both cuben and silnylon and make them available with or without the inner.

I'll try and get some more details asap.

I like the sound of that. If there's one person who can design a good bikepacker's tarp-tent..

It's a tarp tent. Different category entirely.

After speaking to Marc at Trekkertent last night, it seems that the Stealth 1 hasn't vanished for good. It's just been removed for the moment to prevent him getting swamped with orders.

Interested in the new shelter, although it would have to be long enough to fit me comfortably on a big comfy mat

Spent ages looking and came back to a tarp as the best compromise of weight, size and cost!
