This might sound like a strange request... benp1, but could you pull the cable to max extension on your milkman and measure it? There's a whole pack of gummi bears in it for you!
Mine maxes out at about 76cm and is notchy as hell when pulling it out. I think it might be broken and I'm wondering about trying to get a replacement.

Not strange at all, exactly the sort of thing I'd ask someone else
86cm, actually maybe it was 87cm, I've already forgotten and have just put the lock and tape measure away!
It's definitely not the 90cm it's billed as, but I guess there a bit inside the lock (I measured from the edge of the lock, and lock body makes up part of the length)
Mine isn't notchy at all either

To go with 650B+ wheels in a 29er frame maybe?

Slightly different, going to try 29+ front and 26+ rear first to see how much it screws with my Krampus. Hoping plugging in a shorter fork will mean it won't screw the geometry too much (I can live with the lower BB). If it doesn't work then will be buying a Front and plusing the Fargo

One of these:
and one of these:
To replace the one I knackered by wearing the pads past the backing plates...
£15 seems a bit steep for some plastic piping, etc but the instructions were easy to follow and I seemed to have done a half decent job of it!

I use one of these for £3 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/shim ... d-kit-m575 (and a 7mm spanner + plastic hose routed into an old water bottle).johnnystorm wrote: £15 seems a bit steep for some plastic piping, etc but the instructions were easy to follow and I seemed to have done a half decent job of it!

I use a Carradice SQR bag for my commute and credit card touring - perfect for the job: really quick to put on and take off and act as partial mudguardbenp1 wrote:Had a Carradice SQR Slim turn up yesterday, to be used for commuting on my hack/pub bike (no rack mounts on it)

FSA Orbit XL II sealed bearing headset from CRC for the lovely price of £19.99 rather than £49.99 rrp. Probably the best headset I have ever owned .

Picked up a camper van before work today. 2003 VW T4 short wheelbase with a poptop.
Needs a bit of tlc but was a bargain.

Terraduros are a great shoe but these purchased with my heart over my head
They're pretty light, can't wait to use them properly

Had some Terraduro's for about 6 weeks, so far they seem like a good shoe & are easier to walk in than my old Mavics..

I've just ordered some Spesh Rimes from Sigma Sport - for £50 I didn't think I could go wrong (famous last words).johnnystorm wrote:Mithering over a pair of Terraduros having recently ruined my Carbides.....
While my Pearl Izumi ones are comfy, they aren't so stiff in the mid sole, so we my cleat set further back I'm finding a bit of discomfort.
