80Lbs! What's that in proper money? 36Kg or thereabouts. Blimey, I'd struggle to get that moving on a downhill bit of tarmac :lol:

Some very very quick maths on the dataset presented thus far.

Mean average = 53.9lbs (24.4kg)
Median average = 53.5lbs (24.3kg)
Max = 80lbs (36.2kg)
Min = 31.5lbs (14.3kg)
Standard Deviation = 10.4lbs (4.7kg) [I think I've worked that one out right, I just picked the function out of excel!]

Anyone got the results from last yeat - How does that compare? - is the average going down??

Found it. Ave from last year was 52.llbs, +1.8lb slightly heavier but Fat bikes will help push that up

So Ian, you carried a bit more, gentleman like, as you rode with Beth, but then still only 33.5 lbs. Not bad... not bad at all. Especially considering you must have had all the gopro rummage too

The weigh ins are with food and at least .5 l water?

I had 2.5l of water on me at the time, and three days worth of food.

Bloody good job I had the food too, I didn't pass a single shop after 30 mins into the ride. =/

The weight includes whatever you're planning to leave the start with, so will vary rider to rider ... could be 3L of water and 3 days of food or might be 0.5L and a Mars bar :wink:

Apart from when we bumped into Beth & Ian I couldn't help but notice Beth had a frame bag and Ian was carrying nowt :-)

5th ! That's a pleasant surprise as I didn't consciously make any effort to trim weight down. 7lbs down from last year even though I took the Rig7 tarp.

I can only put it down to not taking:

So much food.
A sus fork.
My own weight in cheese.

If I'd actually planned to Bothie both nights, my bike could have been even lighter! The 8 degree comfort sleeping bag was fine in the Bothies, only just mind you, but I knew that was going to be the case.
