Your favourite looking bike?

Post by Ben98 »

It may not be a bike you'd want to own, or even ride, but what's your favourite looking bike, what do you think looks prettiest? Mines the specialized sworks epic 29er, not because I like specialized or I would want to own one, but I just think it looks amazing :-bd

Jones Ti 3d Spaceframe with fat front.

Not only does it look amazing (IMHO) but rides much better than I could ever ride it.

I have loads tbh. I love the look of Cotic hardtails (plus own one), also the Stooge 29er in purple is amazing. In fact amazing enough that if I hadn't wanted a built bike and I'd seen it before ordering, I'd have been tempted with one. Also I have to say the Orbea Rallon in fluro yellow is another even though my riding and that bike would not match up.

+1 for the Cotic hardtails (though some of the current colours are a meh) but I'm in love with the Niner Ros 9.

RE: cotic.

Do you mean the matte finish? I prefer the gloss. Mine is gloss bright green.

For me, it's the Niner Air Carbon. That, or the Intense Hard Eddie.

Clearly I've a bit of a carbon fetish going on.

Always loved the look of the Mountaincycles San Andreas, finally bought one after 10 years of lust and it was not a great ride.
Then an Ibis Mojo SL became the dream bike, finally bought one of them when the prices dropped, and its been ridden once in two years. Its just art in the garage. (Anybody want one)

I just have to admit I have crap taste, and I'll enjoy what I like riding, rather than on looks.

Yep some of the matte finishes just dont do it for me. Love the gloss green and the classic orange Solaris but that matte blue and gritstone. Not for me.

And speaking of the Ibis Mojo Ti (lovely lovely lovely) does anyone else remember the Ibis Bow Ti - pivotless full susser with IIRC 5 inches of rear travel and for about 10 years the object of my desire. Still love it.

There's something purposeful but distinctly simple about this drop-bar 29er from Shand:

I think Rob English makes some of the nicest steel bikes you can get.

I guess most of us are a bit biased, but I still think this is one of the best looking bikes I have ever seen. :-bd

And BITD it was one of these. Still remember being completely blown away when I first saw one in the bike shop!

So many gorgeous bikes out there, but I'm another fan, and would love to own a Rob English. Sadly I am not patient enough to wait 2 years, in which time I will have fallen for something else!

Still dig the look of the Cannondale Scalpel, Lefty front, zero pivot articulated rear; sexy and functional.
