Dual-side velcro webbing/tape

Post by jameso »

Does anyone know where I can get a metre or so of the type of dual-side velcro that Revelate and others use for short bar-roll attachment straps? It's a smooth, thicker and more durable 3M hook+loop rather than the usual Velcro fluffy stuff. Couldn't find it on ebay. Thanks.

I got this from Halfords. Double sided on a roll. Recall it was cheaper than £5 tho

All sorts on eBay, just have to be patient looking at the million options re: width, length, etc.

Yeah, I went through a few pages but it was tricky to see the detail that would identify the stuff Revelate etc use. It'll be 3M or similar, maybe from that German fabric supplier. Will post it up if I find the right stuff. It's for a taper airlock saddle loops to use as a light road saddlebag and to replace the deteriorating velcro on another daisy-chained bag.

I've used this for feedbag attachment before https://www.profabrics.co.uk/products/a ... 01174.html

It's not as fluffy as regular velcro and the hook side seems less scratchy but appears to work. Can probably throw a few cm in the post if you want to see what it's like.

I was going to ask the same question, for almost the same use. Will keep an eye on the post for the outcome. If you find some but involves a large roll I am happy to go halves if it makes it a viable purchase. 20-25mm works for me too.

I've got a 20metre roll of the stuff, made by Velcro (trade name in it), been impressed with it so far. Anything 3M i've come across has been good, dunno about hook and loop by them though.

Anyway, I got that from eBay...which was about 1/10th the cost of B&Q!

Had to try a few search terms
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Velcro-Cable- ... 3a6434c175
1m of 25mm dual side tape here, £2.09 delivered. Will give it a go.
atk, thanks for the offer.. I think this will do OK for now.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Velcro-Self-G ... 4addb4adef
and there's this 30mm tape at £4 for 5m.

It arrived. It's good stuff. Not the same as Revelates but really solid and much smoother than the std velcro tapes.
