Shimano Hose Kits - All the same?

Post by Zoglug »

I need a replacement front hose for the brakes i recently got of flatfishy as the front one is slightly too short! Are all shimano hoses the same? Or is there something more to it i need to consider?

Brakes are Shimano Deore XT BR-M775

Thanks :-bd

As far as I know all Shimano brakes use the same barbs, olives and diameter hose ... so any should fit.

Well.. kind of, kind of not. .

The hose is the same diameter ID and OD as far as I can tell but hose kits off the shelf are not all the same.

Some come with a banjo ready attached, crimped on for the caliper end and 1 set of compression olive / nut / insert.
Some come with 2 sets of compression olives and nuts and inserts

Get the right one for your brake or have an extra insert, olive and nut to chop off the banjo.

if you're not sure, post a pic of your brake
