Due to lots of other things happening I had to make a last minute dash with jBay to keep up with my bivi a month.

I was discounting it as it was a campsite that was paid for rather than a wildcamp.

If it counts, it's a bonus trip then.

June bivi was a botch/fail.
Yeah I camped out.
Missed the planned solstice ride due to fun police intervention.
On a working holiday in france the following week. Decided to bivi at a fave spot. Weather turned bad, realised I had not done a road test on the new tarp. I set it up in the garden (eventually) had a couple of beers and lost the will to set off.
I did sleep in the garden though....
Received bivi karma in the form of a punctured synmat.
I feel so dirty.

Great trip, really enjoyed it. Couple of good bivi spots and some great weather.

My first one in July saw me on the Long Mynd last night. Great views and the weather was spot on!

The heat just beat down on me on all the climbs

I even made a friend at the top, the only living thing i saw all night

My lightest bikepack yet, think this must be close to Ians setup by now

Anyhow back home now after awhole day of trail riding over the Shropshire hills totally exhuasted and all re packed for tomorrows Welsh bivy

Went out for the "Supermoon" last night and didn't see a bloody thing.
Loads of squally showers and flappy tarp made it a rather long night by the seaside.
Saw Keith Bontrager on my travels too.

This is correct ... what I thought was the Super Moon at 4am turned out to be Mikes bare arse as he scurried around in the rain re-pitching his tarp

He is american and still lives there.
He was apparently over for Bristol Cycle Festival amongst other things.

This weekend Chew, Yeti, Wenchie and myself had a trip to the seaside. Conditions were mixed, ie it was either dry and hot or raining and hot. The night was spent on the edge of Llyn Barfog after visiting Aberdyfi and eating too much.

It was so misty when we arrived around half ten that Wenchie didn't believe there was a lake 20 yards from where we pitched.

The wind got up in the night and decided to change direction, so at 4am I woke to the sight of Yeti's bare bum running round trying to re-pitch his tarp.

The return leg was a very steady affair and involved some riding, a very long cafe lunch break and ended with a mystery tour back to Bear Bones Towers. All In all a cracking couple of days.

The Llyn Barfog bike jumble ^ before the gates opened.

Chew sporting a lovely pitch ... that curve's produced soley by mind control.

If there are any newbies out there that are wondering just how much faffing time should be taken prior to a trip ... about as long as it takes to manually cut thistles in a 2.5 acre field and dig a small drainage trench. Someone has to keep Bear Bones Towers tidy

Well that’s 7/7 for me.

Weather forecast was absolutely pants for Saturday night but I’ve been limited this month and this was the only night I had… luckily us North West riders aren’t made of sugar!

Decided to take the fat bike and go for a beach bivy from Crosby up to Southport, first time on a beach so I thought it best to put my tarp on the ground and minimising getting sand everywhere. Amazingly the weather held and I had a fantastic night under the stars watching the ferries and container ships leaving Liverpool heading out to sea.

as usual a couple of crap photos definitely need to get a nice/cheap little camera.

Loads of kit but I did take a complete change of clothes for the heavy rain that never materialised

Good spot, totally hidden but with a great view of the beach/tides/boats

Not my rubbish or fire but a good log to lean the bike against when packing in the morning

“Holy nettles batman !!!” Wearing only short sleeves and shorts on I decided to change my route and give this path a miss.

7/7 - 2nd for July.

Mike (yetiman), Hux and myself did a bivi in the Wyre Forest last night. I rode to Stourbridge and met Mike. We then did a ride to Kiddy via some great single track and bridle way and dropped into Hux's place for a cuppa. We then headed to Bewdly for fish and chips and a mini pub crawl along the Severn. After this we made our way to the Wyre Forest to a spot that Hux had picked out. Weather was vaguely exciting so no tarp required, which meant I wasn't treated to Mike's bare arse running round trying to re-pitch in the middle of night.

Kept awake by the sound of a Stag near by, I guess he was either marking his territory or chatting up the ladies...

After some breakfast this morning, we were treated to a beautiful hazy sun rise as we rode out of the forest. It was the first time I had used Stu's 22g meths stove in the wild and it was great.

I made my way back via the country lanes and hit a little section of off road up to Four Stones at Clent for the view over Birmingham. Into work by about 9am. Thoroughly enjoyed it, thanks guys for a great evening.

I'll get it properly written up and the full gallery on-line very soon.
