*Considering some new pegs for tarp duty. I've a collection of alloy AlpKit pegs which I can't fault, the smaller ones (Candy canes) are light enough and the BIG stakes are great in poor ground ... before I buy some more is there anything else I should look at ?
Please, no angled section pegs ... I always manage to stick the things in my hand and don't even mention Terra Nova
* Just what level of geek can be attained ?

Your tent peg of choice?
May the bridges you burn light your way
Re: Your tent peg of choice?
Tent or tarp I carry 12.
6x Vargo 6g Ti wire hook pegs.
6x Cleats.co.uk 16g Aluminium Y pegs.
Apart from snow/sand I have found this to be a perfect versatile selection. Not silly light but I know I can rely on them. Times spent up in the peat of Kinder Scout mean I now leave the 2g ti pins at home!

For my Z-packs Tarp, I use 7 vargo Ti hook pegs and 2 alpkit ti v-pegs.
I tend to stick them in a tiny bit first and then finish them off with my foot (contained in my shoe, obviously). Please, no angled section pegs ... I always manage to stick the things in my hand
