Righto, part of the North Shropshire contingent is up for this.
2 adults and 2 kids (13 and 10), probably have 2 tents and a bivi bag/tarp.
We stayed at Graig Wen a few years ago, nice place.

A great choice of site, we held Fat Bike number 5 there last year, I liked it so much next weekend I'm taking the wife, Mother in Law, Auntie, Uncle and dog there for a long weekend next weekend in the self catering cottages they have on site. #BrowniePointBuildingFantasticmrmatt wrote:Right folks the Campsite is sorted!

One thing to note the flat part of the camp site and showers etc is near the main building near which is a tough up hill ride for us on a normal riding day, be prepared for bit of hike a bike with kids, there is a sloping field at the bottom through the gate onto the trail with fire pits at each pitch, the middle field looks a bit rough.
Keep a look out for the tree bog.
But just below the main flat camp site there is a great little gathering area with benches around a large fire pit with fairy lights over head, all chip in for some logs from the site and have a warm around the fire.
If you have any questions about the site let me know and I'll ask for you this weekend.
I'd bring the wife and dog but it's her 50th birthday that weekend so I don't think that would be a good present for her

Just a quick update from here at Graigwen (self catering).
Please ignore my ramblings if you so wish as I have no say on any of the organising of this event.
I have some photos to post up on here when I get home, but I thought I'd let you know the following.
The part of the site that you will be in is at the bottom of the sloping middle field, it's fairly flat down there and I guess you will all be together as other campers will be in other parts of the site.
It's very quiet but it's a bit of an up hill walk to the showers and plumbed in loos etc, where you are will have a wild camp feel about it for sure.
You are allowed open fires in the stone built fire pits and you can buy wood from the site shop.
There are some nice real ales in the shop as well as a well stocked larder/fridge/micro wave area which is open 24/7 with an honesty box.
If coming up the hill from the trail push up through the first field, past the tree bog past the holiday home on your left and as the field opens out you will be camping down to the left (so I'm told).
Here I guess it would be best for everyone to wait and let the organiser head up the final climb to book everyone in then return back with the owner for exact pitching places.
PS it's pi$$ing it down here now

Cheers John, When I trekked up last week to speak to them I quickly learned that 400m sign from the gate at the bottom was a bit ambitious!
At least I got a STRAVA! on the way down. Totes Rad!

cool, I'm glad we can buy beer from the campsite that'll mean that the baby can have her own seat in the buggy instead of being duct taped to the roof.

Just be FF and master FF
Mrs FF has drawn the short straw and is staying at home to look after the new puppy.
Miss FF had the choice, Mummy or Daddy?
Guess who didn't win.

Matt I know it's not for another 5 weeks but that'll fly by.
Let us know when/how/how much money you'll want or if we are all paying separately.
cheers

Right I have finally got a more positive response from my ex, I can have the boys that weekend if the weather is looking good.
He seems to think camping and riding can only be done in the sunshine - but anyway its better than he was saying before! I will give you a definite yes when we have agreed on the forecast
