Re: The post man's been ...
So, over the past couple of weeks, I've had a few bits and pieces arrive....
This is mostly maintenance bits - best get round to fitting them
That said, I've got a bit more time as I buggered my knee recently - didn't even come off the bike Turns out that banging your knee, then tailing someone on a time-trial bike @ 25mph for about 20 mins whilst on your 9 speed flat barred cx bike wasn't the brightest of ideas I had
In amongst the standard Ice pack thing and compression thingy, I'm trying out some KT Tape to stabilise the thing.

Bolle Contour safety glasses - light, dirt cheap and the first glasses I've had that don't steam up.
Conti CX King tyres - not markedly slower than my road tyres but so much nicer at soaking up Edinburgh cobbles and pot holes, and decent in the mud.
From that Scott sale - seven (rude not to) pairs of £7.20 gloves and a pair of clipless shoes with ratchet strap (£31) (and a second pair of shoes at that price!).
Podsacs from P-X - much better quality than expected.

Re: The post man's been ...
Just picked up my order from Revelate from Post office. Pika from their bargain bin clear out. Reduced to $80 as apparently has 4 needle holes in the top near role closure. I can't find holes at all and as I will be using a drybag in it anyway its a bargain Also a sprocket and mountain feedbag.
Got stung £20 from customs which I can live with but, its the £8.95 handling fee from Royal Mail that really grates

Four SRAM PC7X chains from amazon. SRAM have stopped making these now, so when I saw them on Amazon, I had the lot

What will you do once you've worn them out!?Ian wrote:Four SRAM PC7X chains from amazon. SRAM have stopped making these now, so when I saw them on Amazon, I had the lot

Hope that Sram start making them again or the other chain manufacturers stop making theirs out of cheeseZippy wrote:What will you do once you've worn them out!?

Re: The post man's been ...
A nice white On One Inbred 26er frame turned up today and I spent a couple of hours building it up with bits and pieces scavenged from the spares bin and swapping out a few parts from other bikes. I decided I needed a play bike for mucking about on, something less tall and serious, a bit lighter and that turns more quickly than my Inbred 29er, which retains bikepacking and rough road touring duties.
I'm just going outside ...

Well finally my sinewave revolution has turned up. Only the day after I get back from a 3 night bivi trip... that it wouldn't have been useful for or anything.

More Monkii cages and nuts.
Re: The post man's been ...
I'm still thinking about getting one of these. How far up your back does it go? Have you tried filling it and how does it sit when full, on your waist?johnnystorm wrote:Montane bum ba....err, Bat Pack 6! WRT OS map for scale and also in the post recently!

Does my bum look big in this?composite wrote:

Bag stuffed with softshell jacket, down jacket and front pocket with two beanies. T-shirt model's own from BB200 :)
I'll fill it and the bottles tomorrow and go for a ride. Ventilation around the back looks good.

Happy to be of service.
(Can we just make sure that not everyone will be wearing one at WRT.

Re: The post man's been ...
Set of Bonty carbon 29er forks from Mr Stu arrived today while I was out with the younguns at Swinley. They're a pivotal aspect of turning my Inbred 29er from all purpose MTB/bikepacker to full-time gravel tourer ... or something. Thanks Stu.
