Tangle bag is fine Ian yep.
Rich, if you want to collect it thats fine, im home tonight / thrusday / friday from about 7
Alternatively I could drop it off either friday afternoon before I go up for the kids, or hide it in the garden at about 5am tomorrow morning?

You can have extra beer afterwards for riding a CX bikeRichpips wrote:BB arrived. I have a working bike now. Maybe not the most suitable one, but I''m good for Saturday now.

Fantastic, big respect for that!Richpips wrote:BB arrived. I have a working bike now. Maybe not the most suitable one, but I''m good for Saturday now.
I was looking at pictures of Jacobs Ladder earlier and worried that a rigid 29er may not be ideal, but I feel slightly better now!
Packed nice and light as well - are you able to change gear alright with that harness there? I struggled with that when I put one on my cross bike once...

I'm hoping the pub won't yet be open when I get back. You can have extra beer afterwards for riding a CX bike
I've ridden down it on this bike before, there are a couple of bits which are quite sketchy though, I'll probably walk some bits. Cave Dale will involve some walking also.I was looking at pictures of Jacobs Ladder earlier and worried that a rigid 29er may not be ideal, but I feel slightly better now!

The harness is a conventional framed barbag.it weighs more than a drybag setup, but I can get food out of it while I'm riding along which will save time.
It sits clear of the shifters.
Need to add a bit of food to the load, but so far it weighs around 24lbs.

Only recently got this as my first 29er and pretty shocked by the weight of the thing...

I'm just aiming for a finish! If I don't talk much it's not me being rude, I just can't pedal and talk at the same time.

Ready to Roll.
33lb that's everything apart from my water bottle. Food all packed on the bike
.
Forecast looks like progressively getting worse over the weekend...
Half thinking about starting tomorrow evening/night? 10pm? But would prefer to start together... What's everyone else thinking?

What are people's ride plans?
Bivy, riding through? Long first day, shorter second? Go fast, have a longer sleep?

Re: Peak District ITT. developing one
I have to get round in a oner because I've only got a SOL emergency bivvy bag and a light down jacket!
Don't fancy sleeping out in that.
Also means I'll get to collapse on the sofa at home and watch the Tour of Flanders afterwards

Re: Peak District ITT. developing one
Dave, thinking hardtail rather than fully rigid at the mo. Wrists haven't recovered from following you and Ian down Jacobs ladder a couple of months ago on the fortitude!
Re: Peak District ITT. developing one
Will take minimal bivvy kit and see how it goes.......
Re: Peak District ITT. developing one
have fun out there all.
Hope you get trough the special 'special stage' without rain.
