Cairngorms Loop

Post by Hyppy »

A bunch of us rode the Cairngorms Loop last weekend. I'm in the process of migrating my blog to a new platform, so somewhat of a proof of concept while I rebuild things write up here: https://hypertelia.com/notes/cairngorms-loop-club-ride

Wow, you hit some amazing conditions. Great pics. I don't remember that river crossing on the Gairn - just after the turf roof 'lodge', right?
I do remember slicing a tyre on a big crystally boulder not long after it :|

Nice!! Great photos and write-up. Brought back good memories of getting similarly lucky with conditions a couple of years ago

Nice one, and a top weather score :-bd
You did the outer loop first, was that deliberate? I generally prefer to get the hard bit done with first....

To be honest I'd not really noticed or considered that: We kinda mixed up the pre- and post-2023 route and order as that worked for their pre-booked overnight accommodation. I reckon if we'd done it in three days rather than the four then taking in the inner loop first as per your thinking would have made more sense though fo' sure.

Ah got you!
Fair play for doing the sting in the tail though, I'd defo give that bit a miss if I was touring the route!

You don't often read "the heat was getting to me" on a report of Cairngorm riding in April!

Photo's are really good. Thank you for the post.
