Summer Jennride 2025 21st June(Summer Solstice)

Post by postierich »

Hi Guys and Gals just to confirm this years event will be on the Saturday 21 June 2025 9:00 AM till Sunday 22 June 2025 6:00 PM!
Same as last year with chilled vibe on the Friday evening with Pizza (more than last year) and a few live tunes around the firepits!
Two routes Mtb and a Lakes gravel route (which will be probably perfect on a Hardtail) :-)
The main MTB route is a banger, taking you over Kirkstone Pass before heading up Kepple Cove over to Raise and down the Dodds to the Old coach road. With a refuel in Keswick you will have the first part of the Borrowdale Bash to contend with before heading over to Stakes pass before hopefully hitting the ODG for some food. There will be some pushing up and maybe pushing down it will not be gravellers amongst us!

Gravel route
Ive done most of the route and hopefully getting out this weekend to recce it all. It will be amazing for the gravel luvvies but also great for the Mountain bikers so if the other route seems like a bit much this route will be perfect!

To enter the event please click the link £32.50 includes Friday and Sunday night camping if you require!

Route recced and it was a belter decided to change a few bits!
Running at 82 entries which is very strange maybe the last one as I hate ramming it down peoples throats  or maybe double the fee :-bd that seems to sell out events!!
Hopefully get out on the mtb route when the clocks change!!

Keep the faith Rich! It's a tricky weekend, being mid summer. I'd normally be all over it, but entered Ride to the Sun, expecting Jennride to be May.

As above, I always love Jennride but this year and last year have clashed with other commitments.

Thankfully, the winter additions have provided my annual Jennride fix

If anyone fancies signing up and doing a packrafting version of the JennRide 2025 gravel route with 3 of us please let me know

Our route will follow the gravel route (of sorts).
It will be half the length, half the climbing, but four times more paddling with 5 times more transition faffing on route. :-bd

When you say hardest - as in because it's a bit longer/lots of climbing type of thing, or because it's quite techie? Fitness related I'll be thinking twice, techie stuff I'll just send

Climbing/hike-a-bike. The section across the Helvellyn ridge (20-25Km), followed by Borrowdale bash and then Langstrath to Lansdale via Stake Pass. Limited shortcut options there.

I’ve signed up!
Looking forward to my first Jennride.

How does the mtb route compare with the 2022 route in terms of techy-ness?
Not a fluffy gravel rider.

The descent from Stake Pass into Langdale is the only bit that's techier than 2022 I reckon. Everyone will be walking down parts of that - yes that was the sound of a gauntlet slapping the floor
The descent from Walla Crag, after Keswick and then from Watendlath to Grange will have their moments too.
