Will do what I can. Was a bit pushed to find one that was out at sea/underwater last year but reckon I can come up with something.

Right, so Phil sent me my grid refs ages ago and my geography as well as knowing/remembering how to read grid refs is terrible (partly why I love this game as it allows me to refresh the knowledge every year :o ). So I've plucked up the determination (that doesn't flow right, does it!) and opened up the grid refs and started guess work.

Couldn't find my first grid point and thankfully Phil had sent me the name (Beldon Brook) so I tried that using this lovely site that someone had suggested years ago when Jon C made the first edition. Anyway, a bit of tugging at the brain strings and I had to watch a BBC bitesized - the British Bulcrapping Media are good for something after all - and lovely to see I was on yhe right track

Feels so good and map getting made before going to sleep hopefully. Let's hope it's not too much brain power needed!!

So, it's only taken me 15 minutes of head squelching and I think I found the exact spot of SE 20006, 14010..

Doesn't matter if it isn't but if someone confirms that it is then that would be a 15 minutes of (relearning) well spent

I love this ridiculous game.

Route made. Castle Hill threw me off a little as the grid ref didn't match the actual Castle Hill. But it turns out there is another place called Castle Hill (but probably without a castle and maybe a ditch or few) a few miles down.

Amazing, though I think it'll need a mountain bike. Looking forward it (and a bit of cheating  ).

Shaff, you can always invoke the 'Or Thereby' qualifier for GR's just in case I've asked you to visit the middle of a bog or someone's garden. Last year Gecko tried to get me to paddle into a large reservoir but instead I just stood on the bank and looked at the spot

Haha. Nah, almost all we're spot on and I've gone as close to some of them. So, it's an either/or already. Generally top notch refs though thanks Phil. All within 20 miles from where I was born but most of which I've only ever visited hardly/none. Castle Hill I thought was the exception (used to live half way down, but your Castle Hill seems to be a bog for some sort. I'll try and grab a pic to write home about.

No worries John. I knew you was busy (and probably busy as, or even busier than me) but you never know what is round the corner. I'm at Macc at work today so might try and fit a ride in around here if I can pick more shifts this way. I believe I go past near enough yours on yhe way back home, so you never know.. as ride might happen after all.

Will my road bike with gravel tyres be good enough for them gravel sections you're thinking of :-bd
