Fat Fighter 2025 - The Year of the Fat Slob
Not sure there's an appetite for this, this year (no pun, honestly) but why stop now. Hopefully it's not just me and John. Look forward to seeing who else is on board (the scales).

2024 was not a good year for my weight
Ended up heavier.
Weighed myself on NYD and slobbed out at 16st 1.5lb
I think this may be artificially high.... but it's what I'm starting at.
I've setup a Whatsapp group with my family as we could all lose a few pounds, especially my son.
Everyone is 'onboard' and currently enjoying having the support, so hopefully it'll be a success.
Jan 1st 16st 1.5lbs about 102kg

Ended up heavier.
Weighed myself on NYD and slobbed out at 16st 1.5lb

I think this may be artificially high.... but it's what I'm starting at.
I've setup a Whatsapp group with my family as we could all lose a few pounds, especially my son.
Everyone is 'onboard' and currently enjoying having the support, so hopefully it'll be a success.

Target weight is 79.5kg, so just 4kg to lose really. Surely, how hard can it be. Last years 'fighting' saw me lose enough that the belly doesn't look too much 'protruded'.

My plan - or at least what worked for the last half of 2024 - is to try and continue the continuous water only fast. Aiming for 20 hours of just buttered coffees and water. But if I reach 18 hours daily then I'll be happy at that.
For definite and feeling much better and I think 2024 was a year of real success for me. Hopefully the thread might helps many others. John, you must be the first audaxer that needs to be fat-fighting. I always thought, but could be wrong, that regular audaxers are always struggling to get enough calories in
BTW, I've made a nice 175 mile from West Yorkshire to Scarborough and back. Most of which is my Scarbarough commute route (of old) so well trodden pave'. It has a nice pizza place that it gets to at mile 83 or so and a lovely 24/7 milk-hut at 50 miles and 120 miles.
Looking forward to trying to do that once a month which will hopefully keep me in calorie deficit at least a few days per month

Thanks. I hope so. Today's 20h, turned out to be only 16 (young un needed help with some donner meat or else we'd not have made it to Friday prayers). Looking forward to what the year brings and hopefully might get a few more members on board again

Ok, I'm back in. Will weigh next Saturday. No idea what it'll be but aim is to get to about 72kg, lose the paunch, a bit of strength training and feel less bloated. Will try and get off the beer for a month at least and maybe til my birthday in March. Cutting out snacking will be difficult as there is still too much left over from Christmas.

I made the mistake of weighing myself after Christmas and I’m north of 76kg (12 stone) so the aim is to get back down to 70.

Yesterday started off well. Didn't eat in the morning and drove a long way to work. Comes 1200 and I was about 12 - 13 hours into a food-free day so far. Plan was initially to hit 1900 and then a 4 hour eating window of which I'd attempt to put in less calories than what I've been using for 24H (about 1800 Kcalories).
Came 1600 and decided to start the food window early. I think then when the snow came in and I had to walk back home (to the place I was staying) it only went bad to worse. Finished the night on at least about 2400 kCal.
I refuse to count calories so don't know for sure, but I definitely ate alot yesterday. Today's gonna be different
and I'm thus far 12 hours into no-food window. Got some bread and butter in the car as well as coffee. So can hopefully regulate myself and I'll text the missus now that 'no food please' when I gets home at about midnight.
For sure this thread series for the last few years has helped so much. Thanks to all those who started it off, we
you.

The family WhatsApp weightloss group is a success at the moment ( 5 days in) it’s a big help!
Doing pretty well, despite still finishing off post festive nibbles, 5th alcohol free day which I think makes the most difference … if my birthday wasn’t at the end of January, I’d see how long I could keep it going… I did into March 7 years ago…
Exercise wise I had a great ride yesterday, not massive at 24 miles but some hills and I really enjoyed it. Doing HIIT’s too which make the inner thighs ache baaad!

Fully a week with no alcohol - it's been really easy. There's 4200 calories saved.
Been eating well, happy with that.
Walked 3 miles most days, done a couple of HIIT, one very enjoyable bike ride of a mere 24 miles.
Drinking more water.
Last Wednesday , Jan 1st, was literally an eye opener when, scales on a hard floor, me naked ( sorry, eye bleach needed) , the reading came back as 16st 1.5lb.




Today was equally shocking. Same setup, different reading.
15st 7.25lb
I don't know how scales can read high ( I said it seemed artificially high last week) ... need a poo? ate loads the night before? Who know's.
It was a shock to the system that has worked. But I can't lose half a stone in a week !
I suspect I'll lose nothing for the next two weeks.

I follow the same routine each morning: go to loo then weigh myself.
Consistency is key but your scales will have an error range - we've digital scales which claim +/- 100g, but some older spring scales could be 1lb out. Short of sticking 100kg of known weight (weight lifting discs or similar) you aren't going to really know.

So, first weigh in this morning after a brief run. As with others, my scales give strange readings. 1st before shower was 79.4kg and TBH I wasn't that surprised at that. If that's accurate, then that might be the heaviest I've been. Weigh in after shower is 78.6kg and that feels right, so I'm going with that.
It's been quite a promising week. Very little snacking. Managed to get through Monday eating well and was quite pleased with myself. Convinced myself that I can do this and the rest of the week was good too. Had a beer last night but that might be the last til Feb but maybe, I'll give myself a couple of beers on the Saturday and forego those I usually have on a Friday and Sunday.

2014: 73.9kg -> 66.7kg
2015: 73.1kg -> 61.2kg

2017: 68.3kg -> 59.0kg
2018: 69.6kg -> 61.0kg
2019: 74.8kg -> 65.2kg (Hip injury year)
2020: 75.0kg -> 64.4kg

Finally got round to weighing myself again. The missus partially tore her Achilles tendon running in early December so while she's been hobbling around in a protective boot I've not been able to be overly active but lunchtime runs have started up again at least now that the kids are back at school.
