Rear mtb mudguard advice sought

Post by Lazarus »

I have a broken road using 29 + tyres and a mudhugger and a sks equivalent wont clear the tyre
Is there an adjustable angle type mudguard that would work.with a 29+ tyre ? Ie adjusting angle on seat stays ?(my googling says no)
I can probably fit a seat post one but dont think a y of these are wide enough given tyre size.
Given a few on here use + tyres any advice ?
Thanks

No idea if they're any good, but these polisport ones have adjustable stay angle mounting

Prior to discovering mudhuggers I used a crude guard on the krampus. Was just abt wide enough to cover 29+ and I could clamp it to the seat tube under the seat post clamp

I have a seat tube one but its not wide enough amd they get knocked about IME of use. Mudhuggers are so good but just wont work for me

I've got a Topeak seat post one I've had for a couple of years now which has given good service. Was specific for 650B and was fine for my 2.8" rear tyre. Model XC1-1 1-650 but can't see that they still do that one sadly

I've got a Broken Road and I use a Mudhugger on the rear with a 29" x 2.6".
I got the longest one and then trimmed a bit off the end.
Not enough room under the fork crown on the front with 29" x 2.6" for a Mudhugger, so use an old Crud guard strapped to the down tube.
