Bikepacking in the Lake District never looked so good! This year marked the first ever Winter Jennride, a two-day, 100-mile bikepacking adventure in the Lake District. Founded by Richard Munro, a local bike packing fanatic, the Winter Jennride is held in remembrance of Jenn Hill, former Singletrack deputy editor, with the money going to two charities, St Gemma’s Hospice and Riders Resilience.
Come along as I follow the riders conquering the challenging terrain for a good cause. Get inspired by the bike set-ups, the beauty of this scenic location and gain valuable insights from our conversation with the event organiser. Thanks again to all the riders who took part and for watching. Why don’t you sign up for this years Summer Jennride and take on the challenge yourself?
If you are enjoying the content, I’d love it if you subscribed and joined me for more outdoor adventures. #GravelBiking #Bikepacking #LakeDistrict #CharityEvent #StGemmasHospice #RidersResilience

Re: Winter Jennride February 2025
So good to see so many booked up!!! the Stake Pass bit is the worse bit but its a decent enough push up with a rideable top bit followed by some filth of a downhill very lumpy before you coast to the ODG .
Route has been updated with a loop taken out before Keswick so you all get to the feed station before 5pm hopefully!
Any questions just ask!!

Re: Winter Jennride February 2025
Booked, hopefully make it to the start. A few years ago I entered the summer event, got to Staveley early and came down with an infection meaning I did not start and requiring a course of antibiotics. Better luck this time.
One question Rich, is parking available for the duration of the event? Ta.

Re: Winter Jennride February 2025
There's generally weekend parking/camping on a field near the start.

Re: Winter Jennride February 2025
Yes parking all weekend for free in field near Wheelbase it is a very tight entrance! No tents but sleeping in vans/cars ok .No Hawkshead Brewery so the gathering will be in the Eagle and Child Friday night upstairs for sign on and beers!
More Bakery(Millyard) for breakfast 8am and start at 9am some will wish to crack on just sign out!
45 have committed so far which is ace and £1100 raised so far!
30 booked on the campsite for warm showers and very good drying rooms!
So £25 ride ticket £5 for camping with a bike normally £9
You all know reading this if you have never ridden in the Lakes this ride will cover so really good riding!!
