Might be more useful to ask Al_H why he needed the fire in the first place?
Easy enough to come up with some tripe about mental health or wellbeing or being mildly hypothermic or he just needed a picture for his followers
Wowsers, that's a bit of a leap too, isn't it?

Seems a bit tough on him if he hasn't been asked and yet already preparing dismissive rebuttals. I'm not a proponent of fires but I do think engage with a person to understand.

Being a well balanced grown up, it's for the internet, not just real life

In his defence it does look like the fire is on a hard surface rather than soil/vegetation so there is less damage being done. But its warm enough that he's in shirt sleeves and seems to have sufficient carrying capacity that there's what appears to be a guitar/violin case in the background, so plenty of opportunity tp bring a stove. My verdict: tw@t

In the interest of fairness, Al responded :-bd

It’s good that he agrees about the fire situation but it’s still a shame he uses old pictures for promotion. Hopefully it will prompt him to reconsider.

It’s quite refreshing to have a ‘celeb’ actually respond to a post on social media, so fair play

Also I think the photo was taken on a trip whereby he went to Spain to busk. He learned the violin and decided he would busk (leaving his money behind) his way round for travel/food/drink, hence why no stove

I'm sometimes surprised how people with influence and who strive to attain it, can be so blind to the potential power of their influence.

Fubbing hell, that’s a right mess!! What on earth were they thinking

I’d hesitate to say but the fire was the only tidy part of their camp (I really hesitate to say that…)

Good film, but I did thought of this thread when watching him light fires all the way across beautiful French countryside...

What a strange video (the instagram one). Drag a load of expensive gear to a nice location, make a ridiculous fire, burn your socks, get cold, don't sleep, trudge back to the car vowing to buy some more stuff. Inspirational.

Made me laugh a lot that one!

Lighting a fire is one thing but leaving it unattended when it's not cold and wet is another.
