doh, sorry for the idiocy.
rode the Pass of The Cattle a couple of years ago.
could do 2 in a day with low gearing, so this answers my question kind of.

Is it any 100km routes with 1400m of climbing?
If so, there must be loads of them.
I did 70km yesterday with 1000m of climbing, and it wasn't a particularly hilly route for around here.

I was about to say any road ride in mid Wales or the Yorkshire Dales. 1400m climb per 100k is actually quite easy to achieve round here too.

sorry,i should have made it clearer. going touring in france in the summer.
1st days ride is 100km but climbing up to 1500 metres from a start at 100 metres.
Mrs T is a bit worried, so we were gonna try and few training rides.

Tony, 14m per km is pretty flat for the Pennines/Dales. I've a local loop of 30km, half of it's along the canal and that has 490m of climbing (not the canal bit!), here's a Strava link https://www.strava.com/activities/10687539854. I suspect it's just the big number for the ascent that's causing the worry.

Here's a local to ours loop, starts at my house but could start at One Planet Llandegla its just over 100k with 2200m, pretty sure there will be plenty of routes on & off road

Did a couple of the midweek Audax 100k rides in the Peaks last year good routes, most with 2000m of climbing and the last one was just over 3000m

Well obviously you're not going to find such a climb in the UK since the highest point in the UK (the summit of Ben Nevis) is only at 1345m

Perth to the summit of the Cairnwell? 65k and 660m of climbing, with a nice little sting in the tale?? Mostly long and steady as per Euro climbs though

Mate, you are in for a treat!!! That whole area is absolutely stunning.

I lived a few kms off that route for 6+ years a while back.

Your proposed route might look like a continuous uphill (because it is) but the majority of it is almost flat with a gentle uphill tilt.

You're fine until you turn away from the Eyrieux river, then it gets climby.

Then things get tougher.

On that map there's a dotted alternative route that continues to follow the river all the way to St Agreve which passes right by our old house and is much less steep, equally beautiful and follows the old railway line and so avoids any crazy gradients.

Of course you'll not end up at the same destination and you'll miss the big peak in the area.

Tony, you could do a good loop from close to your door:

Head to Mytholmroyd, up Cragg Vale, down to Rippondon, up Oldham road over the M62 to Denshaw, road back over Buckstones and down to Huddersfield.

Three long steady climbs, the first and last are quite alpine like.
