Goal 200lbs

01/01/2024: 280.5lbs
05/01/2024: 279lbs
12/01/2024: 274.8lbs
18/01/2024: 274.5lbs
25/01/2024: 273.3lbs
02/02/2024: 273.5lbs

Static, which I'm ok with considering the lifting I've done this week with feeling pretty sore and inflamed today. Tbh I've not been eating in much of a deficit, though eating sensible, as I've been fairly ravenous with three rides and 4 lifting sessions. Hard to get that energy balance right.

Target 72kg
20/1 - 77.8kg
28/1 - 77kg
3/2 - 76.5kg. 2nd week and still sensible eating. Feeling good about it all so far. Let's see how long that lasts.

Checking in.

26/01/24 - 157kg
04/02/24 - 155.3kg

A tough week, my brain and energy levels were not in a great place, my diet apart from a few bad days was much improved.

103kg start
103kg today.
102.9kg today.

Which must be an error as I was on holiday last week, but I'll take it!!

Haven't really changed food habits yet, but am starting that this week as I have been paying attention and notice that more and more I live on stodgy carbs pretty much.

Riding, I started doing a ride every day (got to 27 days) but I have to wonder what is better, loads of short rides or 2 relatively (to me) long ones and a single short one. The every day thing puts a lot of time pressure on.

Not a great week for me, I was not able to keep good food habits, plus I worked in some strength training., loss is a loss though.

My weight varies wildly doing weight training as I suffer with a fair bit of inflammation, but it should be still going down overall though, as I've plenty of fat to lose. The good thing is I must be losing it/recompositioning as clothes fit better, weights are going up, and my wife has commented a several times. But weight on the bike is weight on the bike.

I can't see the result being good this Friday though with family up for a few days and my wife's birthday weekend away.

Gain to be expected after most.of a week of birthday, valentine's day, and family. Too.much, bread, cake and pasta. I'm confident it's not 5lbs of fat as I've not eaten THAT much over (16000 cals?) but it's still not good.

Good news is my lifts are going up, but not had a chance to ride due to the family stuff and weather.

Back on the wagon....

It's all ups and downs no official weigh in with Pancakes and then my first attempt at meringues for Valentines Eton Mess ... they didn't stiffen up as much as I hoped (it's my age apparently) so were a bit chewy.
Tuesday I was 15st 5.5lbs not good , but not terrible.

10/2 - 76.4kg
17/2 - 76.1kg. Another small loss but I'm happy enough with that, could've gone either way this week.

Man down.... Left knee has just blown up over the weekend after a legs session at the gym, can hardly walk. Been bad for a while keeping me awake and GP confirmed more osteoarthritis in it; meniscus and ligaments ok. Just had x-ray and will have to wait 3 weeks for results and see what's what then.

Sofa, ice and drugs for now.

The last thing I feel like just now is dieting, though it's probably the best thing I could do

I could have sworn I'd posted in here. Oh well, better late than never.

06/01/24: 69.4kg
---- GAP ----
10/02/2024: 67.1kg (-0.6kg)
17/02/2024: 66.8kg (-0.3kg)
24/02/2024: 66.3kg (-0.4kg)

1st target is 63kg for 4th May ready for riding in Spain. 2nd target is 60kg for 6th July ready for Salzkammergut.

On the alcohol thing, because of a distinct lack of (dietary) self control after drinking, I've chosen to only drink once a week. Though I would make an exception if I had more than one event to go to (say, two weddings for instance).

Also didn't weigh this week. Had most of the week off and spent a few days eating deep fried battered haggis with wild abandon. I knew what the outcome was going to be. We go again from tomorrow.

We do :-bd Back on track :-bd

Managed a press session on the gym yesterday, but my knee was killing by the end just from being on my feet and changing plates

Just been recablling my wife's bike as the FD gear cable was ceased in its housing, again all ouchy now
Cuppa and rest and then need to replace the chain on my bike and a couple of other things I've been putting off
Having to do it today as its a nice day and bike jobs need to be done outside, no space inside and no man shed

You obviously need to give it a good rest and pretty much ignore the weigh ins for now. No point in beating yourself up about it.

Never give in...like NEVER!
