No real plans.
Need to work on fitness, so try to get out more.
+1
my bike fitness has dipped in the last six months due to an annoying soft tissue injury picked up trying to keep up with my teenage son on his bike!
my plans for 2024 include a sort of 'build-up prog' over the next 6 months or so:
1. Big Dog Forest overnighter/bivvy
2. Barrow River or Wicklows short trip (2 nights), out and back by train via Dublin
3. Galloway Forest (3 nights), out and back via Stena Ferry
4. Cairngorms (4/5 nights), with teenage son...
HHhah I just saw the replies to the "20K ultra", I'm afraid I haven't won the lottery so no, it's not 20 thousand pounds but rather 20000m of elevation.
In fact, it should now be called 25k as after the first editions the organiser has decided to add 200km and 5000m to the original route. It's now 1000km & 25000m of what the organiser calls "alpine gravel"...I anticipate a lot of swearing and nerve damage
As pointed out parts of the route are very similar to the TNR(in reverse) however I wanted to ride an event/with others (TNR might not happen in 2024 and if it does it'll be when I'm away in Sept), and I also wanted to use it as an opportunity to train for other events OR hopefully kill my newborn ultraracing bug and take me back to chilled touring.
We'll see!
