I picked up a renewal recently at the Kendal Mountain Fest, can’t remember if it was £20 or £25. Could be worth looking out for any pop-ups they might have..

I'm taking a punt anyway, although having read the reviews may have ordered a size too large. I'll report back on that. And re. this softshell 'waterproof' malarkey, FWIW Castelli never call the Gabba/Perfetto waterproof, and Gore-tex make a point of telling you the fabric used isn't waterproof, but to most intents and purposes I find them to be. My point being that I'm hoping the Nukeproof hoodie is using a poor man's version of the fabric and so will perform in a vaguely similar manner. So might be worth a shot if it's more for cold weather riding and some drizzle. I remember Stu once mentioning that proper waterproofing starts at about 20,000HH hence that's what I always aim for.… if it's actually raining take a waterproof instead.… .
For £30 though, IME Nukeproof gear is always really really well made.
Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Indeed most things are only water resistant as ultimately they will have a fail point and I assume the marketers are wary of dating waterproof to avoid returns etc so sat resistant.
I have got wet in my perfetto but it was power shower levels of rain for a commute home, everything got wet.

Sad to report that Outdoor Provisions are calling time on the business. They've got a stock clearance sale going on, everything half price.

My old Bontrager dropper gave up recently, so ordered a Fox Transfer job from Wiggle, as it was about the cheapest option around. £109 and came with a trigger!

Jacket arrived today. Water sheds completely, but there's no taping at all on seams, just overlocking. It's far more casual a cut than I'd usually want to but ought to be good for equally casual riding.Hyppy wrote: ↑Thu Dec 07, 2023 10:40 amI'm taking a punt anyway, although having read the reviews may have ordered a size too large. Amazing stuff. I used to have a Lowe Alpine fleece many years ago that would do that. Beaded water better than my 3 layer gorecrap but moved it on to a deserving friend who probably didn't realise what a novelty it was!Hyppy wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 4:11 pmJacket arrived today. There are a couple of good looking retro ATBs on Facebook Marketplace in Cockermouth, Cumbria for a good price if anyone's into that sort of thing. Nothing to do with me, and I haven't got the time to ride the bikes I've already got:

That's strange, given the solstice isn't till about 3 tomorrow morning. What's the relevance of East 17? "Stay another day"? I guess that would explain the prematurity
