The Mk6 Stooge is out. Apologies if it's been mentioned already. There's a review at https://bikepacking.com/bikes/stooge-mk6-review/ Not sure if 4.8kg for frame and fork is heavy - my Solaris with carbon fibre fork is about 3kg - the review quotes a finished build at 14kg.

Saw that and it does look nice. It's about a kg heavier than the Jones frameset which I'd put down to the extra bits of tube in the frameset and the three piece fork. Not a deal breaker and you could lop a chunk of weight off if you lost all the gears

After a good few years on a fairly sedate gravel bike, and with a wide range of tyre widths and two wheel sizes experimented with, I've concluded that there is an optimal tyre width cut off for a gravel bike. I have my own number, bits it's basically when the tyre width is too much for the frame design and for the intended mix of terrain, and more importantly when the handlebars become a hindrance for making the most out of the tyre.

In other words 29x2.2 is flat bar MTB territory for me, and when the terrain requires a 2.2 then those bars and riding position are a bit hilarious. It's not so much under-biking as mis-biking.

It looks great in that setup but the standard stock pictures are terrible.

The out in the wild picture makes me want to buy it whilst the stock picture made me carry on scrolling.

Also available as frame only and a rigid fork is available as an accessory (all below a friendly cycle scheme £1k!)

I think this is intended as the budget version, so won't really be troubling the Mason or Fairlight. More like a Kona Unit. Think it'll do well but it'll be hefty with those dropouts and all the mounts, not that it'll matter too much... certainly looks good

Looks good and a good price, but 640 ETT in my size (Krampus is 625) hello wrist pain.... Sad really as they are likely just copying cotic, pipedream et al without thinking that actually, for a 4" forked bike that's too long.

Oh well, I'm not likely to need a new bike anytime soon so I'll shut up!

At that price point and in 4130 it's perhaps more a longer, slacker Big Bro rather than Holt or Raw isn't it?

My feeling is that it is a bit different to the Kona and most other new hardtails in that the seat angle is a more traditional 73 degrees. The Big Bro is similar but that has a shorter more Ogre like geo. Most other frames are much steeper now. I tend to prefer a slacker seat tube so this bike looks like it would work for me (but I do wonder if I should persevere with a steeper seat tube and the Pace RC529 kind of appeals to me to try this out).

I've not really had much interest in e bikes to date but this looks good - the perfect shopping bike
And some interesting developments in terms of rim sand tryes, given that fatbikes seem to be getting dropped by everyone else just now. Surly excepted but there short lived fat cargo bike is now gone and there e-cargo bike not available here....
