Telling a takeaway that a bunch of hungry riders are coming and they might want to consider opening a little later is fine. Ordering a meal before you've even started the event... not so much.
So I should give em a call... Or shouldn't

My plan was (from what you mentioned) the former, ie. A load of hingry riders coming on these dates and could you stay open til 0030. Then try myself to get there for 0030. I have no affiliation to the place whatsover.

But, from what Stu mentioned it's a risk I'd be taking for a DNF  Don't wanna be tha lt person

This is why I thought this situation was ok Bob. As I was trying to areange it for everyone?
But to ensure that, would you not have to contact every rider directly?

Oh crap just found the third one on my 2XXX gpx. If my memory serves me correctly, right near the summit, I missed the descent path in the dark and spent a good hour plus wondering over the top trying to find a way down that wasn't vertical.
I've done that both times I've been over there. There's a thinner line that carries on straight ahead instead of turning off and it's vey easy to just stay on that when it's dark/you're knackered/you're on autopilot.

As you have to enter online via this website, surely posting it was happening on here would be acceptable?

If you are crazy another to enter the event, then if you don't bother to check here for any last minute instructions or route changes etc, surely it's your own fault if you miss something like this?

I mean how were we told about where and when that pop up cafe was 16/17? It was a post on here from Stu wasn't it?

That was available to all riders so is fair game. It's private/personal arrangements not available to all that are against the spirit/rules of the game.
Available to those who knew where it was, I didn't have a clue as all the references to it were for those in the know

Balls, was reminded today that the start time for the 200 is 08:00.

I'm going to be cutting it really close on some of the shops I wanted to get to. I think I'm going to have to go out at a much harder pace than I had originally intended. I usually start late (and hungover), but I guess not this year!

From Stuart's email:
1. Start/finish is Ysgol Llanbrynmair/Community Centre SY19 7DH. Doors open at 7am both days.
...
5. Riders to be underway no later than 10am (advised 8am if riding the 300).
Looks to me like you could set off at 0700 if you so desired but...
6. Stuart will be at the car park entrance where you must sign out so your start time can be recorded. Setting off without signing out with Stuart will result in a DNF

There's an on route PO that's reachable before it shuts at lunchtime, then it's a power ride to see if a sub 20 pace can be maintained to the 2/3 point to hit the takeaways, then trundle slowly in with a huge pot belly from the two lamb kebabs you've troughed comfortable in the knowledge you can be slower for the last easier third

So I'm in the same space going for a early start to see if I can make it to the takeaways

Plan b if really slow is an off course pub on the extreme west

Plan c is just keep going with what I carry, but actually make myself stop and eat if I'm not making myself whilst riding or pushing

Looks like 13 here. I guess I've been more adventurous on the WRT!

Really trying to avoid that. Just want to grab water and a snack by the place that I can't mention.

Edit - I do like the sound of the easy finish, but there are still some hills in there that I'd rather not be full of takeaway for!

Most of the ones I'll pick up are on the out and back to the westernmost point of the route, I think there's only five after the potential resupply point at 2/3rds distance and four of those are on the way out of town.
