A big easy Cairngorms loop?

I've a pal who's wanting to do a big ride in the Cairngorms with friends, some of whom will be on gravel bikes.

I suggested the outer loop of the classic CG loop.

Any improvements on that?

Probably as good as it gets Rich.

One possible extension (time/tiredness dependent) is after Loch Builg rather than the big climb over Culardoch turn left and head down lower Glen Gairn to Daldownie then cut round to Balmoral then back roads and tracks to Invercauld - should be obvious when you look at the map.

+1 to everything Bob said. Just done the CL at touring pace (4 days/3 nights) and the outer loop is very gravel-friendly, particularly in these dry conditions, apart from the upper Glen Gairn bit (though there was plenty of pushing even on MTBs so maybe not much difference). Personally I'd rather ride it on a MTB but I'm often in the minority on that. The Feshie/Geldie watershed is the only other significant section that might cause problems. Again, I pushed some of it on a MTB anyway.
