I just got excited when I found a traffic webcam in Tyndrum.
Then got disappointed when I saw it's not a live feed, and it only gets updated every 15 minutes.

I don't either but you can open a post 'in a new tab' (on a computer rather than a phone at least) to see it: https://www.instagram.com/p/Cs3u6o-gh1l/?img_index=1

Meanwhile Annie Le has reappeared at Kinlochewe - her tracker hadn't pinged since last night on the coffin road.

Just drove past Christophe Dijkstrans about to do that little bit of singletrack by the shore of Loch Lochy

Waiting by the canal for him

And apart from nearly getting taken out by a numpty in a campervan he flew through

I wonder what Tom Hall is doing at poolewe? Just a navigation error?
The section where he left the route is really good gravel estate road so I can't imagine he's trying to find an easy escape route. It doesn't look like the way he went is any quicker to get him into Poolewe either.
I'm pretty sure that path he's on hasn't ever been used by the HT so it's not like he's using the wrong gpx.

edit: ahh, looks like he has scratched. :(

Cath is doing an effective ITT! I don’t think she’s seen another rider since around Cannich

Hopefully she doesn’t stop at Suileag bothy which was partly her intent but gets the Ledmore Traverse done then it’s road and easy tracks to the schoolhouse bothy but it may be midnight or later before she gets there

My main concern is that she tends not to drink enough water/fluids and in this heat that becomes a problem.

If she does get to the schoolhouse bothy and then into Ullapool early then she’s just a day behind the likes of Phil Clarke and Alan G. I think it just looks bad because she’s on her own but at the moment she’s looking at around a seven day finish.

She’s also looking at 80 mile days which is fine for the route north but Fisherfield is hard going and might knock her confidence as that’s the major section that she’s not done before. Once she gets to Achnashellach after the Torridon descent she’s on known territory as we’ve toured most of it at least once

I think it looks seriously impressive , all of them do and she will be fine.
Not many cyclists could complete that route* [ either fitness or technical] and anyone who can do it is a true hero in my eyes , she is still moving and she will finish.
Also dont forget many of the others are either the fastest riders on the planet or no slouches themselves, almost everyone rider would look bad next to their times.

* its on my to do list and a completion will make me happy.

Roll on next year's group start, eh?! :-bd
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.
