Computer woes - GPX favour

Post by Al »

Our aged MacBook has finally died.

I need to export the jennride route to my old etrex before Friday but the route as download has too many waypoints and the etrex only shows half of it. I don't have access to Basecamp to convert it until I can replace the laptop.

Would any tech savvy Bonners mind converting the gpx file for me if I email it too you please??

When you download from RWGPS, it allows you to reduce to 500 waypoints - that work?

The naming convention of GPX files/types is confusing as everyone refers to “routes” when in almost all cases what you really want are “tracks”.

Routes consist of waypoints and are meant to be used when you want the unit to choose the route between those points.

Tracks consist of “recorded” points and indicate a precise route/track that has been completed either on the ground or on a computer.

In the middle of a field at the moment so can’t help with the conversion
