2019 Salsa Horsethief bike (Carbon, Large), £2000

Post by BenS »

I'm selling my Horsethief, bought from here.
Current pictures on Google Photos. My head is so much less capable that this bike on technical ground and the only times I do not feel over biked I'm not enjoying it either at the time nor afterwards. Bike works well for bikepacking with the included Salsa framebag and I could fit a seatpack and still use most of the dropper post travel (I'm, 6'1") with the WT Valais shown fitted. I have just bought a steel hardtail and promised myself I would sell this.

From Niels' original advert I have ammended where I have changed things:

Frame: Horsethief Carbon, Large
Fork: Rockshox Pike RCT3 140mm, 42mm offset, major service by TFTuned, fork is about due its 100 hour lower legs
Shock: Rockshox Delux RT3 - major service by TF tuned
Derailleur: SRAM GX Eagle
Cassette: SRAM XG1275 10-50T
Chain: GX Eagle
Cranks: Descendant Dub 32T Superboost running on Hope bottom bracket
Brakes: SRAM Guide RE, 180mm rotors, calipers had replacement seals and pistons last year
Headset: Cane Creek 40
Stem: Salsa Guide Trail 50mm
Handlebar: Salsa Rustler Carbon, cut to 740mm
Grips: DMR Deathgrips
Seatpost: Reverb Stealth 1x Remote, 150mm Travel
Saddle: Selle Italia Flite
Front Wheel: Hope Pro4 Evo 110x15, DT Swiss XM421 29”
Rear Wheel: Hope Pro4 Evo 157x12, DT Swiss XM421 29”
Front Tyre: 2.4" Magic Mary Evo TLE, only a couple of rides old with a cushcore XC insert - quite impressed with the inserts making lighter tyres feel like they're a bit more substantial whilst descending
Rear Tyre: 2.25" Maxxis Ardent Exo TR with a cushcore XC insert

Will include the tyres I bought it with (Teravail Honcho 29x2.4”, durable, tubeless, Teravail Kennebec 29x 2.6”, light and supple, tubeless) and the Salsa framepack. The bike has data tag markings which can be transferred to the new owner.

I'm in Sheffield and would prefer collection or meeting mid way. I am sometimes in south wales for work.
