Day one of the month of fasting starts for me today. Really excited and am sure the kids can't wait for eid at the end too. Though the weight management is a side effect/bonus I think I'll be weighing myself towards the end of the fasting daily.

Hoping it will help any gluttonous feelings when opening the fasting (and for eid day we're allowed to eat and drink as we please :-bd ) and through the fast-free periods of the eve/night.

Starting weight updated below

:-bd to you guys

Undecided whether it bother weighing in tomorrow, though I guess I should. Have hardly left the house since the weekend, as I'm so exhausted and my legs hurt. Last ride was last Friday. I've not been bad eating wise (for me I've been good) , just not particularly dieticious.

Did a short upper body weights session yesterday at home which was a bad idea . Just been for a slow ride to the shop (7km total) and now I'm back home feeling nauseous and a cold sweat sontsken an aspirin. Not even wanting to eat the stuff I went to the shop for (general shopping not poor show). I must be bad

Sorry for the moan. Just needed to let it out at someone other than my wife who worries enough about me.

Best of luck tomorrow guys :-bd

Not good bud ! Presumably this is an ongoing condition not just new thing. I'm guessing rest is the best thing. And cut yourself some slack. And eat what your body wants. I'm a strong believer in your body knowing what it needs, what it's short of, and what food it's in. I sometimes get a really craving for Marmite (I am a Marmite lover) and I put this down to there being something in Marmite my body is short of.
I hope you feel better soon.

Oh FFS! Was doing some mobility and stretches earlier and my bloody lower backs gone now! Just got up to go to the loo and my legs were feeling like they were going to give in. Atleast I have a stash of naproxen, see if that helps. I give up

Here we go. First day of ramadhan done and the figures. Couldn't be bothered to strip when I was only an hour from finishing the fast so corrected the measurements with educated guesstimates of what the clothes weighed.

1/1/2023 = 83.1kg
Early Feb = about 86.5kg :o
24/Feb = 84.2kg (thankful and greatful Alhamdulillah).
23/Mar (Ramadhan day 1): 84.4kg

It's been a topsy turvy week again with illness and the chocolate monster but I've been running enough to keep weight gains to a minimum - 41.5km run since the last weigh in which is about 10km down from where it should have been. I've lost a fair amount of the belly fat which was the aim but not lost a lot of weight - maybe it's all turned into muscle

25/03/2023 - 81.6kg

I got back yesterday from a week up north in a cottage with Mrs G. As predicted, my intake of calories went up considerably (bread, snacks, the demon drink, etc.) and so did my weight, albeit by less than I'd feared. I did manage to get out for some rides on the nearby Speyside Way, though, so at least burnt some of it off. Definitely a case of getting back on the straight and narrow this coming week!

There’s a few maintains and slight gains here since I’ve checked in. Please please don’t let this dishearten you. Just think of all the good work you’ve done to even get here. New well starting this week, let’s see what you can do.

No weigh in for me last week as I was away on a couple of trips either side of a holiday. Weigh in today though.

Actual Journey Start 1st October 100.2kg
91.6 05/01/2023
90.2 13/01/2023
90.2 20/01/2023
90.2 27/01/2023
89.5 03/02/2023
88.9 12/02/2023
88.9 17/02/2023
88.4. 24/02/2023
87.0 03/03/2023
86.7 10/03/2023
85.8 17/03/2023
84.4 31/03/2023

My next weigh in will be next Thursday, dales divide on the Friday, weighing will be the last thing on my mind.

So that’s a weight loss of about 5 hamsters 🐹

Bum.

I'm not surprised as things have been pear-shaped for the last few weeks and I've been concentrating on putting out fires NOT on eating well.

A lovely perfect storm of various life/family/work/health nonsense combined to test me and tempt me to eat to feel better (which I have been).

Do I feel better? Of course not but that's not how it works.

Re-grouping and re-focusing on things now that things are settling down (hence making an appearance here again).

Let's see what the coming weeks bring.....

I know the feeling Gairym. My back (SI joint) still stopping play. Ironic that doing stretches and mobility is what put it out

I have come.to some realisations regarding my binge issue and the lack of any meaningful exercise has calmed the hunger, so for all I've not been dieticious I have been eating much better.

Off on holiday this morning so will weigh in Friday 14th of April and reboot. Taking the bikes with us, but not sure how much if any use they'll get unless the back clears up soon.

All the best :-bd

Well March has been a bit of a let down in terms of this compared to Jan and Feb's rapid pace.

Only down 1.2kg in weight 0.4 in bmi, 0.6 in body fat.
Only up 0.5 in Muscle Rate and 0.4 in Skeletal Muscle.

March has a few meals away from home, which didn't help with content or portion size , and training was slightly down, but still in acceptable levels.

I guess it does get harder after the initial burst and material gains will slow down the longer you are on it.

Still April has had a good start with 0.5kg weight reduction already and good improvements. I think this is down to the excitement of starting with a personal trainer this coming week, but an early start on his cal number planner etc. I'm only seeing him once/twice a month, but he is mainly there to set me specific nutrition and training goals, and to plan what I need to do between now and July. He aims to assess my progress from numbers on a weekly basis and from a practical basis on a twice weekly/monthly basis and give me areas to then work on, flexibility or rather my lack of it being where I'd like it to be, being the top one. He is based in my local gym and I see him there most days so I'm sure he will be pointing the odd thing out most days to work on.

I think having this extra support, will make a big difference in providing extra motivation for me, as currently I'm trying to treat it like a military campaign with the NYM and BB200 being the first war to win.

After losing weight and doing lots of gym work over the last few years, my arse has changed shape.
Have a favourite saddle. A cheap Selle Royal one that fitted me perfectly. Have it on all my bikes.

Been getting some miles in ready for the Loch Lomond Troassachs route at the end of the month and getting a sore bum. So have ordered a Fabric Radius one that will hopefully be comfy for me!
I really thought I wouldnt have to go back to the Which Saddle? thing again
