Not great as still working through all the Christmas snacks but getting there slowly. More importantly feel so much better actually have energy and motivation to do things at night and weekends.

Still dropping nicely. However, did also manage to do my heaviest ever squat in the gym last night by a fair margin so think I have a good rate of weight loss.
Unlike my boss how is doing 800 calories a day with a 12 hour overnight fast. He's mega-grumpy!

Also really enjoying being out on the bike more - definitely feeling fitter. Today I am off to deliver my brother-in-law's bike back to him after I sorted out the gears. A nice 25 miles along the paths along the Firth of Forth coast

Good to see a number of us here on the path of lightness.

Sods law my back went yesterday, hopefully it'll not stop me getting some level of exercise for too long. Obviously it wont make food jump in my gob, but it gets hard when you're in pain and grumpy with it. I think doing stuff on my knackered ankle might have thrown it off :roll:

800cals a day for an adult working male is crazy unsustainable. I think I'd rather straight out fast than be teased by that amount of food :lol: Though I guess if you had it OMAD it would be better.

2200cals seems sustainable for me between 3 reasonable meals; usually split roughly something like 500, 800, 900, but breakfast can be bigger if I'm going to be riding or walking. I do get hungry leading up to the meals and by late evening, but not hangry and I'd prefer to get out of the habit of eating between meals. I will often try to keep breakfast and dinner lower if I'm not specifically exercising, so that I can just eat 'whatever' with the family for tea with out calorie counting it for MFP. Trying to work out calories for home cooked evening meals is just too much hassle.

Still going in the right direction thankfully. Feeling better now that I'm being more active and careful with what I eat.

While we're talking ankles again.....

Had an MRI and it seems I've got a complete rupture of one ligament, a partial rupture of another ligament, bone marrow edema and some tendonopathy - happy days! :-bd

So zero winter sports this winter for me but I don't really mind so long as the weather stays ok for me to ride my bike.

Nothing like an injury with a lovely long recovery period to help with weight loss :lol:

That's a bugger gairym :cry: Unfortunately I've never been offered such luxury as an MRI or detail on my ankle, just been told yeh it's buggered I feels like I could easily dislocate it now.

In other tales of bodily woe, I'm still waiting for a MRI on my wrists for them to decide if I carry in with steroid injections (which I've actually not been able to get for ages)or have the lovely 'kapanji sauve' procedure on one or both. Sounds lovely , they fuse (screw) your radius and ulnar at the wrist end, then cut a chunk out your ulnar a little bit up from your wrist that leaves a gap in your ulnar to allow some rotation of the wrist. Not sure I'll be able to MTB (or even ride) at all if that happens, particularly as only one bone (radius) will support my body . Urgh... God knows :roll:

Holy crap dude, that doesn't sound fun.

I'm a massive fan of the healthcare system in France, it's like the NHS used to be (to be clear, blaming funding and policy decisions NOT the workers) in that it works and things get done.

I hope you manage to find a solutions that stops the pain and manages to keep you on a bike!!!

Cheers. Currently just having to have naproxen when it's too much for my wrists. I was getting steroid injections until covid stopped them, then moved to a new area, so going through a whole new process with a new consultant. He seems great, but won't do anything until seen new MRIs, which could be god knows how long. But then are the options he's given , injections if they work or the chop if that looks best when he's seen MRIs.

Riding on road I can get into a bearable position but it does get bad during and worse after. Off road, estate tracks can be bearable for a short while,until they're not and then it is nauseating with involuntary yelps and swears with any hits and manouvering the bars, single track/sheep gaets are the worst. I tend to load up on naproxen in advance of a long ride, during and after too, but it's not good in so many ways.

I’m good with that. It’s in the right direction.
I’ve increased my walking step target to the recommended 10,000 and I’m on a 7 day streak of hitting that.
My boy is a UNIT, always has been but sadly over the last couple of years it’s got out of control. He’s VERY big. So I’m trying to get him walking more and tbh he’s doing ok. He lives in Coventry , I’m in Ludlow. So we phone each other and talk sh1t. It seems to help.
He’s on something called Saxenda which is an appetite suppressant but not available on prescription. The DR’s recommend it but I paid for the first lot but at £150 a month I can’t continue to pay for it.
Other than that I’m still enjoying 30mins yoga / callesthenics every day. Resistance Bands are excellent.
Im tantalisingly close to my first target of sub 15st 5.
Onwards and hopefully downwards.

Not a good week. Results in on my ankle. It's buggered. Gonna need surgery and in the meantime the snow finally arrived in the Alps meaning that everyone I know it's ecstatically happy AND entirely consumed with winter sports whereas I can't go outside without both immediate pain and the fear that I'll be on my ass in excruciating pain any second.

It's also stopped me doing the only exercise I can do (riding my bike) for the foreseeable.....

Can you tell I'm feeling a little sorry for myself?

Icy weather is putting me off riding my bike during the week as I would normally ride in to work on country roads at 5am but the risk of a fall on the ice and being in the middle of nowhere in the cold is putting me off.
Doing more weightlifting at the gym instead and hitting PBs on almost every exercise. Apart from pullups, which are a LOT easier if you're lighter.

My ankle's on the mend, and so is my back (put out by my ankle) so exercise has been a struggle. Off for my first camp (hammock) of the year tonight so I may lose a bit more in shivering :lol:

Have started running. I am just building up (been messing for ages but am being more structured currently). Hope to start seeing some benifits in a few weeks. Struggle with sore lower legs, calfs or shins. Weighing less would surely help!
