Yay, it's cheery Friday.

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
What nobody's had a cheery Friday since 3rd January?!?
So me, yes I know it's nothing like the real thing, after a decent wattbike session at lunchtime I now feel that my health has been restored...any lost fitness will surely follow...
Now all I need to do is shake off my "lightweight" status and find some mojo to do my BAM at some stage...to be fair the weather has been atrocious...
In other news, cached in a late Christmas/ 50th birthday present (o the joys) and attended my very first routine mammagram screening session. What a wonderful thing the NHS is, and we are so fortunate to have it.
I was seen by a lady who clearly thoroughly enjoyed her (rather strange when you think about it...) job, and we giggled so much, which of course means she is also rather good at it...
Now I know how a panini feels

Well V, it's a downward spiral from here on in
I suppose today is somewhat cheerier than yesterday, given that yesterday I managed to not only destroy my compressor but also a Snap-on impact gun ... something of an expensive day

That is worse than having to send of a poo sample (my 50th birthday present from the NHS!)
Did you get the nut undone Stu?
Very cheery here as I have just done a bike ride without getting rained on
Looks like normal service will be resumed tomorrow though...

Bugger. They can be a PIA, maintainers of bicycle suspension forks don't know they are born!

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
Cheery Friday for me. I'm a bit reluctant to share for the fear of it all going horribly wrong but I think I'm nearly there. 90% so at least.
I've had a dick of a Manager who's lied about and under-mined me for nearly 2 years and that really came to a head over a year ago. I've spent the last year battling the fecker and picking apart any criticism he's put my way. Fair to say it has been a stressful year.
After getting offered a new position earlier in the year, which I had to refuse, I was asked to apply again with the promise of an increased offer. Today the hiring Manager all but confirmed it. I'm so chuffed. It'll make a massive difference for many reasons. I should get full confirmation this week or soon after. If so, I'll be back even cheerier next week.

One other reason to be cheery...fixed the leaky washing machine. On a roll.

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
Managers who are dicks are such a bloody PIA. I had one in my previous job and I seem to have been plagued by them through out my working life...
Hope it all works out
Now a cheery saturday morning as this has arrived:-
An overall aesthetic improvement I think....
And it's not raining (yet) so I'm off on another bog trotting bike ride

Currently Draco but that's likely to change. Possibly to Tavish which I believe means 'twin' in Scottish or strong, energetic, courageous and forceful in sanskript ... who knewwhat's his name?

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
Well the van went to the doctor yesterday and today...
Turns out the "emissions problem" was the Ad-blu injectors. However the temp and NOC sensors were also faulty Fortunately I'd taken out an extended warranty/service plan so it cost me nowt
The four new tyres however cost me £260 Then again two were illegal and the other two were almost so plus the MOT is due in mid March so they were going to have to be replaced.

He has a certain regal look about him Stu, very handsome as others have said.Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 7:41 pm It's nearly Friday and I'm collecting this lad over the weekend
Has Ruby met him yet or will that have to wait until you get him home?
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

Not really a swim as such, but a stand up to the waist for a while whilst chatting, followed by a coffee and watching the sun rising up from behind the trees.
-4 air temperature, 4.9 in the water.
Definitely cheery start to the day

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
It's new bike day! What's not quite so cheery is that the missus is going away for the weekend so I probably won't have the time to assemble it let alone ride it until she gets back.
Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
Yes of course. Coffee, when it should be tea - right?Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Fri Jan 20, 2023 11:01 am To be honest V - that ^ would have ruined my weekend
