01-01-23 - 119.1kg
06-01-23 - 121kg

I'm obviously just regaining the weight I lost while ill so I'm not really considering it gain but more the actual baseline.

02. 01. 2023 122.9kg
05. 01. 2023. 121.1kg ..... Down 1.8kg

1.8kg down since Monday is a bit bonkers, but newbie losses, sadly it'll slow down. Always knew I was just full of crap

2200cals and around an hour easy walking or cycling each day. Though I popped my ankle yesterday so am really hobbling right now, so sofa and, maybe, some dumbells today.

Ankles are a$$holes!!!

I've wang'd my right ankle 90° the wrong way 3 times since October!!!

Had an ultrasound and x-ray to see what's what and now awaiting an MRI next week before talking to a surgeon about possible options

And then yesterday I went over on my left one (but not bad).

Who knew that +20 years of skateboarding injuries would ever catch up with me.....

Yeh my left ankle is so fecked if it occasionally goes over and oops in and out of joint. Doesn't even particularly swell or bruise any more it just hurts like hell.

A physio said the ligaments are just sub standard and she could pull it out if she wanted. I do single leg balances from time to time which seems to help, but occasionally it just goes. Yesterday I'd been mooching through overgrown forestry with fallen trees, no issue, get in to a nice track and plop! I'm on the floor cursing for a minute and then hobbling on. Even had my big altberg boots on.

Going to take some naproxen now. Not sure why I didn't last night

06/01/23 73.9kg - time to get back on the wagon after a year off (only gained 2kg in that year so not too bad).

Target: 68kg though really I'm mostly trying to lose belly fat while prepping for a marathon.

I’m in this year, for the first time, having never felt the need in previous years. However, I’ve been gradually piling on weight since around the middle of last year. This was due to a number of factors, not least of which was some 'life stuff' leading to less cycling and physical activity in general (still no excuse) combined with consuming alcohol too frequently, often accompanied by poor food choices during/afterwards. I’m hoping by ‘outing’ myself on here weekly it’ll give me the incentive and accountability needed to ditch the excess baggage and get back to a more acceptable weight (and healthier lifestyle in general).

Starting weight is 87.9kg. Target weight is 79kg. We’ll see eh…

Target = 76kg
Starting weight 1/1/23 = 88.4kg
7/1/23 = 85.8kg

No idea how that happened. Apart from a couple of games if footy and two rides, I've continued to eat like it's still Christmas Day. Must be my crappy and very inaccurate scales I guess.

Target - 72kg
7/1 - 73.8kg
1st weigh-in of the year and pretty happy with that. Still too many snacks and food leftover from Christmas to be too confident of making too much headway too soon.

1kg in a week seems healthy enough.

Hi All,

3 years ago I didn't need to worry about this at all and took health and fitness broadly for granted. Last couple of years have been very up and down for me, and I purposely didn't weight myself as I was in denial...

Anyway, weighed myself for the first time in years on Monday...69.2kg  . 3-4 years ago I was around the 60.something mark... Trying to find my spreadsheet where I used to jot it all down right now.
EDIT: Found spreadsheet, I weighed myself regularly over 2015 and was between 59.5kg to 63kg, with an average of 60.9kg

Target, i think 63kg should be achievable - hopefully through a bit of diet/moderation on that front and to start cycling/exercising more regularly again.

TLDR:
09/01/2023 = 69.2kg

Target = 63kg.

Count me in for this, a little late to the start and I will weigh in tomorrow. I am currently recovering from Brain surgery to remove a tumour which has been degrading my health for the last three years and totally written the last eighteen months off and left me with limited mobility and fitness. BUT I rode my bike for the first time in 12 months and although unfit it was great, planning a simple over night trip in April, get back on the horse so to speak, actually excited for the first time in a few years.

That's crap, but also good news Loki that you're on the mend.

A big well done for getting back to it , small steps will make big changes :-bd

Maybe if I listened to my own advice I'd stop having my own health crashes

Meh, bad ankle week, too much work, no exercise (yet) and some dubious food choices - all about what I expected.

06/01/23 73.9kg
13/01/23 73.8kg

Target: 68kg by May

24.8 km run since the last weigh in but I've got the appetite of a horse at the moment so wasn't expecting a loss. After a fairly restrained christmas I've still got a mountain of chocolate to eat which my eldest is very happily helping me with - balancing appetite with exercise is going to tricky in January.

Late to the table as usual ...
I'd got to a good weight for me 14st.2 / 90kg and it stayed there for a while.... then it started creeping back up .... hit 15st , back on the Keto.. down to 14st 7.
Crept back on to an alarming 15st 9 /100kg ... and a complete loss of cycling mojo saw me do 7 mile in 3 months Oct/Nov/Dec which won't have helped at all.
I like a beer, but to my mind ( not the Dr's ) I'm not a big drinker.... regular is what I am 2 or 3 bottles a night, with maybe a whiskey nightcap. Sounds bad but nowt compared to some.
I'm 4 years Veggie so the food is fairly good, all home cooked from scratch. I guess portion size is the issue so we're swapping to smaller portions of the 'thing' be it lasagne (using mandolined courgette rather than pasta), quorn cottage pie with swede topping etc, and increasing the steamed veg sides ... more broccoli especially.
I've cut back on the beer, not Dry January as it's my birthday on the 25th and I'll defo have a beer then. So far I've had 12 Dry days and only had 3 pints in 2023.
Initially I want to get to 15st 5, then 15, then 14st 10lb then 14.5 .... I'd be happy anywhere under 14st 5lb /91kg.

I'm doing 30 mins yoga / callisthenics with a resistance band every day, and trying to do over 7500 steps, 10k preferred which is about 5miles for me.
Weather has been dire since the start of the year, but I've revamped the Croix De Fer so I'm actually looking forward to getting out on that.
