Air mat electric mini pump

Post by barney »

Hi all, looking for a bit of knowledge/wisdom from the boners...

Those electric/battery mini air bed pumps, are they any good?

Any recommendations for a decent model that won't break the bank or take up too much space?

Cheers 👍

I bought one for my raft and it also works very well on mats too. It appears to be this one but under another name. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09YRRYDTR/ ... RydWU&th=1

I see they do smaller ones too but I've no experience of them but maybe they'd be ideal for mat inflation where you don't require the same volume?

I've got a Flextail Tiny Pump 2X, only used it a couple of times but I'm impressed, much easier than a pump sack or blowing it up with your lungs.

The 2X is the improved version, smaller and more powerful. It's also a light you can hang up.

I used it on the winter bivi and it was fine at -2 deg.

got the thermarest one [ initially as i did not like blowing up three air beds for me and the kids ] and now I take it on multi day trips

Its pretty light [ about the same as a sack to inflate] and its just good to be able to switch it on and let it pump up the bed whilst you continue to make camp.
Handy but not essential is my take
Battery case falls off all the time though amazed i have not lost it yet.

I have the flextail mini one. Is tiny, has a light on it and USB C charging.
Can blow up my packraft, so an airmat would be no problem

Me too. It’s a few years old now but works fine. I like it because the the thermarest doesn’t fill with moisture from my breath.

Mine did too, on the first trip out. Still works though. :-bd Batteries last for ages.
