Wanted - Rigid Fork for MTB

Post by sean_iow »

After some rigid forks for a drop bar mtb project.

Budget is small (should really be buying new discs and pads for the van not building a bike) so probably something steel/alloy?

Along the lines of a Salsa Firestarter, Genesis Longitude or Sonder Frontier? Cage mounts would be nice in case it works well and I decide to take it further than the commute.

Disc brake essential and post mount preferred. Cosmetic condition and colour not important as I can always re-finish them if necessary.

I'll have a look. Couple of pairs of Salsa hung up but I'll need to check what they are.

I probably should have mentioned the wheel size, the frame is 650b and designed for a 100mm to 120mm fork.

I previously had a suspension corrected 29er fork and it seemed to be fine.

Don't know if this affects any of the replies above.

Longshot but if this turns out to be for a 26er and no good for Sean or Alex I'm interested as a way to lighten my son's XS Inbred currently running an On One 420 or 440 (I forget) A-C heavyweight steel fork.
