But why?!?

Post by Verena »

This keeps popping up on my phone ...

Has the world gone completely mad?!?

I can't even get my head round the idea of bib shorts if you're a woman...but this?!?!

And the description of it?!

If I ever get the urge, I'll by some work overalls and cut the legs off...

It's a tailored skin suit...with buttons. I suppose that's one way to avoid any irritating seams at the expense of practicality.

Just another attempt to sell yet more sub standard that really doesn't matter.

Cool...

Or how about some Enve pieces?

Insulated poncho, only $290?

Or an Enve Bear Suit, $375 for the ensemble for him or her. Perfect for the bearboner in a bivi or bothy.

While not a romper-wearer myself*, there are clearly quite a few folk in the world who are, so why not make a bike friendly version? Every other item of bike clothing seems to have been done in a "looks good at the pub after the ride" version.

That aside, I am far from an expert on women's clothing and sizing, but they look to have a wide range of fits and are making an effort on the sustainability front. Good luck to them.

*TBH, I reckon I could be tempted if I lived in Colorado/Arizona/'Straya...

Anything's got to be better than lycra though surely?

If there was anything then the roadies would be wearing it .

Dont really care what i look like on a bike* I only care that the clothing functions properly - that said it will be a very long time before i own a romper suit for cycling duties

* almost always lycra with waterproof shorts for the MTB

Ooooo, a bit of a balanced argument going here, I like it

I like the look of the enve pieces, though not the price tag....

My very favourite ever item of clothing are still my mid 90s powerstretch salopettes, very very comfy and fleecy and versatile for all sorts of activities, and have a very practical bum zip. Haven't seen anything like it anywhere since, dreading the day they eventually become completely worn out/unuseable.... has anyone seen anything like it anywhere by any chance???

I had some winter karrimor fleece salopettes that were ace, for some reason they seem to have gone out of fashion and the original ones given away long ago

I like the garment in the OP. I don't see a problem with the description either tbf  Definitely the sort of thing I'd see the youngsters in leafy south Manchester wearing.

Full disclosure: I own a romper suit of sorts, although it hasn't been worn for a few years and I think the crotch area may be in need of some repair

You would fit in at the WI.... if you add a tweed skirt.

Warning: This Trail Romper induces rule-breaking behavior. If you wanna do what you want, when you want, while giving zero Fs and really feeling yourself, this romper is for you
Think I might buy one.

One piece mtb suits have been around for a while now, popular with the Enduro and DH riders in winter

Stu - if you search (apparently) crotchless suits are available; not sure how durable they would prove though...
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.
