I'm off to Mexico in December so I'm just servicing the bikes. Seems the outer sheath has rubbed through after a friend lashed the bike to his van.

Leave it or put a new one on?
Would you change the brake hose?

Re: Would you change the brake hose?
For what it costs, I'd (get my friend with the van to) change it. The outer is really just a protective layer so it's done its job.
May the bridges you burn light your way

Would also change
I get the person whose bike I have attached to tow bar to check it to avoid it being my fault

Nah, leave your brake damaged, I'm sure the flight to Mexico was cheap....

I've gaffa taped such things, but only because is was too late to change a hose before a ride
