Side release buckle with cam - UK supplier?

Post by thenorthwind »

Anyone know where I can get hold of these side release buckles with an integrated cam to lock the strap, in the UK? https://www.extremtextil.de/en/side-rel ... r-cam.html

I have something similar on my Blackburn seatpack harness, and I like them. Seem to be rarer than a rare thing though.

Will putting the cam lock on seperate work? If you got a good buckle it should lock itself I thought/found?

Haven't come across them before, thanks. Can't see anything suitable though.

It should, but the cam lock gives a bit of extra security when you're putting a lot of tension on them. A separate cam lock should work, though I'd have to figure it out, but the combined buckle is a nicer user experience.

Let me know when you find please Dave. I'll pop one on my Endura (2nd home with me) singletracks. The buckle seems to have lost its grip and slips...

I know Alpkit use these on some of their bags. Could be worth an email to see if they have any spares you could purchase?

Hi shaf, a temporary alternative method is to add a little inner tube patch or trimmed inner tube patch.
Under the cam to add friction
It sounds like the cam teeth have worn or distorted.
I hope you think you know, what I might of exactly meant.
Warning - may contain value odded typos & ither mythspellings..

Have you considered a metal G-hook buckle? I have one to replace a broken plastic cam buckle, did not require any sewing to attach.
