Bearbones 200 black badge bike oddities
Whilst riding the fatbike to work this morning, i wondered what the oddest bike to achieve a bearbones200 black badge completion.
Given bearbones is a niche subset of the cycling world, i imagine there to be a strong show of hands for singlespeed, fatbike etc completions, but is there any impressive stuff of legend? raleigh chopper? fixie? bmx?
When i did the dales divide in 2020, one guy completed the route on an 80s Dawes Galaxy complete with his commuting panniers and full length mudguards & 35mm tyres, had so much respect for him!

I'm not really sure. Certainly SS, gravel bikesand fat bikes but I don't know about anything 'weirder'.

We've had a tandem attempt by Kenny and Col from Alpkit but it resulted in a DNF and I think Shona and Rich have always gone solo.
ChrisN did the WRT on a fixie one year but I don't recall he was daft enough to do the 200 on it.

This years I was pleasantly surprised at seeing the gpx files of rides... I think it was almost with a few km of the 200 marker...
Re: Bearbones 200 black badge bike oddities
I've done it on a 30 speed hardtail - that's pretty niche on here
