Front derailleur with integrated cable stop

Post by lune ranger »

I need a front derailleur with an integrated cable stop to use on a modern bike with no frame stops.
Ideally SRAM (that’s what my group is already) 2x10.
Anything considered however, what about the Shimano GRX one?

I find SJS Cycles https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/ can often be useful for stuff like that.

I think when I had the same issue previously I used a direct mount derailleur and a clamp on direct mount adapter. This was a few years back and a quick google didn't come up with much

SJS sell clamp on cable stops which is another option.

Shimano side-swing with the cables routed via clips on the DT bottle bosses? If there's one thing Shimano do much better than Sram it's FDs imho.

Thanks all.
It’s a pretty hard Google mining task this but there are a bunch of Shimano fd’s that have the option of a complete outer cable run but I don’t have Shimano shifters.
I’m going to wait till I have the frame in my hands and see what I can come up with - I’m hoping a clamp on cable stop low on the down tube will let me use my existing derailleur.
