Acepac - get it while I've got it.

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

Following on from a mention last week, I have the following Acepac luggage up for grabs. Those who already use it would hopefully tell you how good it is.

Rear Harnesses rrp £ 39.99 - £29.99

Rear Harness + 16L tapered dry bag rrp £79.95 - £59.98

Front Bar Rolls rrp £59.99 - £45 (these have an integral, yet removable dry bag built in so are fully waterproof.

All items are stealthy black and brand new with tags attached.

As the post office don't offer any free services, you'll need to add a fiver to the total to cover postage. If you'd like something, you can simply send the required amount as a paypal F&F payment to stuart@bearbonesbikepacking.co.uk (remember to add a note with your address) or if you have any questions fire away.

I’ve got the rear harness and the front harness, rock solid kit. Looks like I’ll need to source elsewhere for an 8l dry bag for the rear harness. For those interested, don’t hesitate, it’s great kit.

Not the lightest, but the most bombproof gear you can buy.

No swaying too

Get the 2 sizes of rear bag so you can swap and change to suit.

Roll bag up front is top notch too

I have just received a front roll bag I have a question is there a secret to tensioning the straps as I can't get them to pull through the buckles easily and I can't get any tension on the strap that goes around the lower crown at all it just rotates .

I have the harness so not sure if its the same but yes the lack of instructions was interesting
Undo the clips/buckle
Velcro the spacers on first - harness then spacer to bar and wrap the Velcro to bars
attack buckle/clip and tighten by pulling really hard - NB there is a locking part to the strap/buckle - flip this up first or they probably wont tighten/pull
Pull tight then pull tight some more- flip the locking part down
Harness bit so this wont be applicable i assume
Attach bag - if you attach the lower strap at this point it has no tension as the harness is not curved or it makes it hard for the harness to go curved so i do it last
Tighten bag
tighten bottom crown bit - the bag may need to be full for this to work ?

You may also find the webbing a bit 'new' Kevin. As it softens off it should become easier to tighten.
