drj0n Limpet

Post by Huwblut »

I'd like a rack on my MK2 Stooge which doesn't have mounts. I'm wondering if these might do the job?

I'd imagine that I'll be carrying 2-3kg max.

Any thoughts please?

No reason I can see why they won't work. They look much stronger than a P clip and people use those.

I recently was on a three day trip and used the GFunk clamps which seem fairly similar to the Limpets.

Looks good, could use cable cleats for a budget version. Depending on the size, 50p odd each from an electrical factors.

Or something like these?

These might be at the spendy end of the market but certain I have seen them on ebay.
Search stainless steel marine p clip and look for the rubber lined version.
They are made for a range of tube sizes so you will need to do some measuring at the point you need to fix at
if you have tapered tubes.

I've used rubber lined stainless steel P clips on my Ramin and they haven't budged. As mentioned above, getting the correct size is important, but they're a viable and relatively cheap option. I've used the drop out mounts as a backstop to prevent them moving downwards.

Went with one of these and a 31.8 seat clamp with mounts built in. Hopefully it'll work out...
