Blow-up hammock - kind of.
I'm sure this has taken some thought but I'm not really sure who the market is or even if there is one - especially at nearly a grand.

Lovely bit of style and branding on the webpage (although the little movie of the chap "discovering" this alien looking shelter was a bit w&nk - balaclava pulled over his head and funny headtorch).
Looked like with all three bits it'll be approach 5kg (pump NOT included, yet - they say) so, well, err, for a one person shelter Not including whateveer you're going to sleep in (bag, quilt, pillow etc). I know hammocks are usually losers in the weight race compared to a bivi but blimey!
Can't tell how the fly works but it looks a bit lacking in coverage compared to regular hammock set-ups. I suspect you might get wet in average UK conditions where there's rain and wind.
No under-insulation so you'll either need that (more weight) or a mat, if one will work inside (still, more weight).
I'd be interested to see one and try it, if only for the novelty value, much like those massive Tentsile things. But as it stands, will I be parting with even the $100 deposit? Nah.

Thought it looked really good, right up until I saw the weight...

Rich people who will use it once in their back gardens?

Puts me in mind of the G7 Pod climbers sleep platform (which is lighter and a bit more basic).
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

They'd probably have two or three so their kids' mates could have a fancy sleepover!fatbikephil wrote: ↑Wed Jan 12, 2022 11:30 am Rich people who will use it once in their back gardens?
5kg! Just looked at mine: hammock with suspension - 500g; tarp - 670g (when I pull my finger out and make my new one that will be 400g); top quilt - 360g; underquilt - 590g. So that's 2120g for everything including insulation.

It’s a bit chubby, you could take a hammock and a decent tarp tent and still carry less weight.
